Principal's Message
Hello Springwater Students and Families,
Happy New Year! We are in the final few days of the semester! We only have 4 more school days until Finals Week. Finals will run from Monday, January 23rd through Thursday, January 26th. The semester ends on Thursday, January 26th. Finals week has a different, shortened schedule. See the schedule below for all of the details. There is no after school support during Finals week (since the school days end in the morning) but there will be after school support next week: Tuesday - Thursday with transportation home at 3:45pm.
Although we are only half way through the school year, we have begun looking ahead to next year. All sophomores attended an assembly about CAL (Center for Advanced Learning) on Friday after lunch. We will also be sharing information about middle college for current sophomores and juniors in February. This is a great time for current sophomores and juniors to begin thinking about next year and whether CAL or middle college is right for them.
I hope everyone is enjoying the 3 day weekend (remember no school on Monday, January 16th) and please reach out with questions or concerns.
Take care,
Ryan Blaszak

Future Plans After High School: I’m most likely going to college. My mom’s been saving up money so I can go to college and I’m not going to let that just go to waste. I’ve always had an interest in coding, computer tech, stuff like that.
Grade: 9
Interests: I’m interested in most active-types of activities. My favorite active thing to do is swimming or 4-wheeling. I do play games, usually when I’m bored or not able to do any physical activities with my friends. My favorite is Terraria.
Favorite subject in school: I think it’s Science. I like the experiments and watching how this one chemical or organism interacts with another chemical or organism and creates a reaction. It’s interesting.
Favorite thing about STHS: There’s two things I really like about it. One, it’s a smaller school and easier to navigate. Very convenient. The second, the way the teacher’s teach. I enjoy it. It helps me learn.
Payton Helfrich
Future Plans After High School: I’m planning on going to Mt. Hood Community College and going into engineering. I’m thinking of industrial engineering, but I’m not sure.
Grade: 10
Interests: I like art and gaming. Most times, when it comes to gaming, it’s building things, like Minecraft.
Favorite subject in school: I like a lot of my subjects. Not US History, not a fan of that one. I’d say either art or math are my favorites.
Favorite thing about STHS: Just the happy faces of the staff that I get to come in and see every morning.
Cyrus Henry
Future Plans After High School: Probably going to take at least two gap years to focus on making some money and then I will figure out what kind of hobbies and things to do after that- to try and do my own business or whatever I want.
Grade: 11
Interests: Any kind of sports, my church group, work, and all my hobbies (music, whatnot)
Favorite subject in school: It’s going to have to be PE, because that’s one of my favorite things to do. Our PE class allows us to do any sports that are outside in the world. Bennis makes sure we do all varieties of sports, not just athletic ones.
Favorite thing about STHS: It’s going to have to be the community here. It always supports people, even outside of school.
Finals Week Schedule: January 23rd - 26th

If your son/daughter is going to be out for the day please call the office (503-261-4600) and let us know the reason why. Whenever the office is not notified of an absence, a call is made home via the automated calling system. If the student is going to be out more than three days, you can call the office or email your student's teachers with a request for homework. If your student is going to be out of school for extended period of time due to a vacation or some other event, please have him/her complete a Pre-arranged Absence Form. If your student needs to leave school early or arrive late due to appointments, please call the office or send a note to excuse their absence.
