Thank you for joining us last week for our Curriculum Night which focused on our online resources, their purpose/focus, and how to access them. Our Family Technology Guide has also been updated with more support links for better accessibility support. Our leadership and support team, with the support of staff from all grade bands, enjoyed presenting and providing hands-on experiences. Presentation is provided below if you'd like to review. Great turn out at last night's Trunk or Treat, creative trunks all around, thanks again for joining us and for PTO for organizing and executing the event!

Carline is definitely smoother as most families are following procedures, have DashPass open, and their placards displayed. This coming week, I'll be back at the park to ensure both items are present as we do not want delays in carline; our goal is to safely and efficiently operate carline. Carline reminders will remain on the weekly newsletter for your reference.
MYP families, has your child lost their planner folder we provided them in August? Either send in another folder (plastic, prongs, pockets in their assigned color) or send in a check/money order for $5 to have it replaced. These planner folders containing the planning sheets for the month as well as their hallway logs that serve as their passes for transitioning around campus during instructional time.

At Franklin Academy, we believe that the strategies, discipline, and critical thinking skills learned in the game of chess also help your son or daughter academically. Students who purchase our 2023-2024 t-shirt will be able to support our chess program by wearing their t-shirts at Franklin Academy Chess Appreciation Days throughout the year!

CARLINE REMINDERS...
Please remember that each placard you were given is to be cut in half so you can place the other half in another vehicle. If you need more than the two we provided you, please email Ms. Gibson with the request. gibson.tamera@franklin-academy.org. If you are having issues with DashPass, you can contact our Director of School Operations, Mr. Williams as well. williams.demon@franklin-academy.org.
Our biggest hurdle has been vehicles arriving before their designated pickup time. Broward Sheriffs Office (BSO) WILL ticket you for arriving early. The arrival times are listed on the back of your original placard for easy reference, are in our Parent/Guardian/Student Handbook, and were part of your registration when you completed and initialed every item of the School Contract. ***Rock Creek is NOT a staging area to line up before 2PM. There is NO staging area at all.
K-5 Dismissal: Arrive at 2PM to begin entering campus, students will be released at 2:15.
MYP (6th-8th) Dismissal: Arrive at 3PM to begin entering campus, students will be released at 3:15.
Any authorized parent/guardian/family member/family friend that arrives for dismissal, MUST HAVE the current year's dashboard placard AND DashPass downloaded and set-up with the child's link. If you are sending an adult that is on your emergency list, please have them download the app as well and SHARE your child's link with that person. If you need help with sharing your child's DashPass link, visit our website to find videos and reference guides. https://cc.franklin-academy.org/school-info
We will continue to monitor dismissal compliance. If the authorized driver doesn't have the placard and DashPass, they will be removed from carline, sent outside by the curb to either receive a temporary placard, after ID has been verified, and will receive support to download DashPass. After that, the vehicle will be redirected to enter carline at the archway to enter carline again.
