Welcome to the New Year
Welcome to 2023!
I'm looking forward to being back in the building with everyone to get the second half of our year underway. The transition back to the school routine can be challenging for some kiddos. It's not uncommon to see a spike in behavior (e.g., in the classroom or on the bus). Please communicate with us as necessary, so we can support all students with being kind, safe, and engaged students in our school.
When we return to school, we start with a busy four-day week. Our Universal Testing window opens, and this is when we administer reading and math tests to all students. The window is open from January 3 - 19. We use this information to inform classroom instruction and determine whether students would benefit from intervention with our reading and math specialists.
Another event on the horizon is getting a winter concert on the books. Our wonderful music teacher has begun music lessons and band, so stay tuned for more information! We're looking forward to bringing back a robust music program but have needed some adjustment time. I appreciate your patience with this.
