5TH GRADE PARENTS ONLY:
During the past several weeks, your child has participated in the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program at Lineville Intermediate School. This program was presented as a cooperative effort between the school and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
The D.A.R.E. Program was designed to prevent drug use and to provide your child the skills necessary to make wise decisions in life. Your child has successfully completed the D.A.R.E. Program.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Lineville Intermediate School invite you to attend the D.A.R.E. graduation ceremony on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
We encourage parents and family members to attend this graduation ceremony. Your attendance helps to show how important your child’s drug-free future is to you.
We look forward to seeing you on March 3.
Sincerely,
Deputy Gawlik
D.A.R.E. Instructor
Brown County Sheriff’s Office
Attention Parents/Guardians:
Your student will have another opportunity to increase their awareness of their social and emotional behaviors through completing a social, academic and behavior screener. The screener, mySAEBRS, will ask students a total of 21 questions and will be completed in under 10 minutes. The student’s teacher will also complete a similar screener based on their observations of the students. This optional screener will allow school staff to identify universal and targeted areas for growth focused on students being able to regulate their emotions, develop positive relationships and make positive decisions. This screener is done twice a year.
Feel free to contact Sydnee Milis with any questions or for more information. If you would like to opt your child out of the screening process please complete this opt out form by February 27th, 2023.
LEADER IN ME
Last month in the L.I.M video we showcased Habit 4. This month's video showcases Habit 3 “Put First Things First.” In the video you will see that the 2 girls are doing their math homework like they’re supposed to, while the 2 boys are playing non-school related games on their iPads. One of the boys realizes that he is making a mistake by not doing his math homework first. The other boy continues to not put first things first by playing the game. One boy does the right thing, but the other does not. The boy who didn’t put first things first had consequences and the other was rewarded for doing what was expected.. So in conclusion, always remember to put your “big rocks” (priorities) first. The fun stuff can come later!
