Principal's Message
Dear Panther Families,
I hope you had an enjoyable and restful summer!
We are looking forward to an amazing 2023-2024 school year. We will continue to work as a team to create an inclusive positive learning environment where students feel safe and are excited about their learning.
Our phenomenal Parkview PTA will be hosting a Back to School Barbecue on Tuesday, July 18th from 4:00pm - 6:00pm! You are invited to meet the staff, enjoy a hot dog (first come, first serve), and find out who will be your child's teacher this school year.
PTA will be selling Panther Pride gear on Tuesday, July 18th! Don't forget on Fridays we show our Panther Pride spirit and wear green and/or spirit gear!
The first day of school will be Wednesday, July 19, it will be a minimum day for 1st through 6th grade students. Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten will have orientation on this day.

What does my child need to bring to school?
Your child should bring a backpack and if you choose to, snack and lunch.
Parking...
*The first two weeks of school tend to have heavy traffic. If you are able to, it would be preferable if you walked your child to school.
*Please do not park in the top parking lot in front of the office during morning drop-off and after school pick up. Parking is reserved for staff, buses, and our SDC students who have disabilities
that prevent them from walking far distances. We appreciate your kindness and respect for all of our Panthers.
*You may use the lower parking lot that can be accessed via East Palomar Street, you can also park on Juniper Street and walk your child into the school.
Can I change my child's teacher?
Please note that no class changes will be made, except to correct an error, the first two weeks of school. After this time frame you may pick up a form from the front office requesting a class change, however that does not guarantee a class change.
Morning Line Up:
On the first day of school students will go directly to their classes at 8:45am.
Beginning on Thursday, July 20, ALL students (TK-6) will be lining up on the north side of the school blacktop area. Each class has been designated a number, students will line up quietly and read a book, if possible, while they wait in line. Our focus is to keep students safe and prevent them from getting hurt, therefore there is no running around, playing games, playing on the play structure, etcetera. Younger siblings/friends are also to follow the same expectations.
For student and staff safety, parents/family members are not permitted inside the school building. Once you drop off your child you will need to walk around the school to exit the campus. The same will apply for the afternoon pick up. Should you need to go inside the school, please check in with the front office to sign-in and receive a visitor's pass. All unknown individuals without a visitor's badge will be asked to sign-in or leave the campus.
Parent and Student Handbook
Please ensure to read through the Parent and Student Handbook that your child will receive at the PTA Back to School Barbecue or the first day of school. Many of your questions will be answered by the handbook.
Cell Phones
The expectation is all cell phones and electronic devices are to be turned off and in the student's backpack during the entire school day.
