Christmas Swap Shop
We are running a Christmas Swap Shop on Friday 9th December in school, details on the poster below. Thanks to Mrs Nadarajah and her team for organising this!
Disco Night - Thank you PTA!
We have to say a massive thank you to the PTA committee and parent helpers who came along, prepared, managed and cleared away after the event. The children were very safe with all of our volunteers and behaved incredibly well, a good time was had by all, adults and children.
We did take photos on the night in the photo booth, printed copies have been ordered and will be distributed to you once they have arrived from the photoshop.
We've put some photos above for you so that you can see the action!
Covid and Winter Illnesses
Covid
The Department for Education's latest advice on illness this winter includes
- A Children and young people should not attend if they have a high temperature and are unwell.
- B Children and young people who have a positive test result for COVID-19 should not attend the setting for 3 days after the day of the test. (Positive on Monday, return Friday etc.)
- C. Children with mild symptoms such as runny nose, and headache who are otherwise well can continue to attend their setting."
When we can see that a student has a fever, very regular cough or is clearly unwell we will ask parents to keep their child at home under categories A and B above, this will help us to protect the school community from a major outbreak of infection.
As we enter the winter period we have always changed our disinfection routine to protect the school community from influenza, Winter Vomitting Bug and other Noroviruses, we will do the same this year. Please don't forget that children with sickness or diarrhoea must remain at home for 48 hours after the last episode.
Numbots and Times Table Rock Stars
Teachers have letters and stickers which will come home in the Y1-6 students homework folders with login information from Maths Circle, who provide both products.
Mrs Martin, who leads on Mathematics and I are looking for an additional Maths online product and are trialling different companies at the moment.
For those of you new to Numbots or Rockstars I've included some videos for you below, you can find more on Youtube if you need additional support.
New clubs in January
Some of our current clubs will not be returning in January however we are pleased to announce that Mrs. Kane will be running 3 chess clubs and InnovationPod is adding Coding for KS1 and Debating for KS2. All the details of what is going to be available will be sent out in time for you to book online.
