THE EVERGREEN EXPRESS
EVERGREEN ELEMENTARY-FAMILY CONNECTION
October 15, 2023
Greetings Evergreen Families,
We are excited to support UNITY day on Oct. 18th by our school community wearing something ORANGE. Friendly reminder that this Friday, Oct. 20th, is an early dismissal at 1:45.
Be sure to thank your BUS DRIVER this week, as we celebrate them and bus safety.
Our schools are heavily impacted with federally-connected students. This includes parents/guardians who work on federal property in Maryland, live on federal property in Maryland, and/or are active duty military personnel. In view of this impact, we receive federal grant funds to operate and maintain our schools and enrich school programs. To receive these funds, the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) requires us to survey each student to determine eligibility. Additionally, effective communication is critical to the success of St. Mary’s County Public Schools. SMCPS is encouraging all parents/guardians to please take the time to access and complete the Impact Aid Survey Form online, located in the Home Access Center (HAC). Once logged in, directions to access the online form can be found HERE. A video with instructions is available HERE. The form can now be accessed in Spanish by clicking on the Globe in the top right-hand corner once the form has been started. The deadline for the online submission of Impact Aid Program Survey forms is November 14, 2023.
We have received 213 completed ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY forms. If you have not done so, we truly appreciate your time in completing this form required for Kindergarten through fifth grade. This agreement allows students to access GOOGLE apps for education and Schoology. We appreciate your support by completing the form by Sept. 30th. Acceptable Usage Policy linked here.
Due to the change in weather, students are starting to wear light jackets/coats. Please consider writing your last name on the tags/inside to assist staff when forgotten clothing is left on the playground., bus or in the cafeteria.
With Gratitude,
Principal Fowler
