Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-- it didn’t take long to wrap up this short week. Suddenly, we’ll be looking at another month in the rear view mirror!
This week we began our preliminary registration process with current 9-11 graders. What this means is they entered their course requests for next year into Powerschool. You can see this from home if you have them log into their Powerschool account. You might want to at least ask if they’ve started it yet. We held a special advisory on Tuesday, but were still missing about a third of our students. This coming Tuesday, we’ll make sure all students have entered 6 course requests. This is an important step in building our master schedule for 24-25, which also leads to staffing decisions for the spring. We anticipate growing by about 80-100 students putting us well over 1500. In case you’re wondering, WIAA athletic classifications have already taken place for the next 4-year cycle and we will remain at 3A during that stretch.
Speaking of sports, senior wrestler Tyson Ramsey made school history again, finishing 3rd in state for the second time in two years. Congrats to Tyson.
Our girls basketball team has already made school history with their winning season and playoff run. Tonight has an opportunity to be very magical for the girls with a trip to the Tacoma Dome with a win! We wish them the very best as they go to work against Kennewick tonight! 6:00pm, game at “neutral” site—Richland High School. We’ve learned NFHS Network will be streaming the game. NFHS Network Link. Search by Ridgeline High School, possibly Richland High School, to get their feed. (team pictured here).
We’re excitedly counting down the days to our Verde Loco kick-off assembly on Monday, March 4. This sets the stage for the rest of the months events, culminating on March 27 with the Battle of the Green! We’re proud and grateful for our community business partners for their sponsorship. You can support them and Ridgeline at the same time by doing business all month with our SHOP LOCO sponsors!
Please stay informed by skimming the Falcon Flyer for new events and opportunities every week!
Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

THERE IS STILL TIME TO APPLY!
If you have a senior who plans to attend college after graduation and your student has not yet applied to a school, there is still time for many schools out there--especially 2-year and 4-year schools here in Washington (all public colleges and universities except the UW, Seattle and the UW, Bothell still accepting applications for fall). Case in point?...
NEXT WEEK on February 26, 27, and 29, RHS will host Spokane Community College, Washington State University, and Central Washington University for onsite admission application events! If one of these institutions represents a good fit for your student and your student has not yet applied, please encourage your student to complete the Google form Mr. Spraggins posted in the Google Classroom. Mr. Spraggins will then send all registered students the necessary event details!
Ridgeline Wrestling
Tyson Ramsey (12) placed 3rd in the state at 144 lbs, becoming Ridgeline Wrestling's first ever 2x state place winner (3rd 2023). Tyson finished his weekend with a 5-1 overall record and ended his falcon career by completing a revenge tour, winning 3 consecutive matches against each of the last 3 opponents to defeat him.
