Dear OMS families,

What a week! Our fingers are crossed that the temperatures start to warm up so that we can get back outside for recess. Thank you to our OMS parents that were able to help with indoor recess this week. We may be calling you next week too!

Another thank you to our community of parents for Zooming in with your child's teacher for parent/teacher conferences. There is always a buzz of excitement in the air when teachers get to talk about their students!

Finally, a reminder that there will be NO in-person learning on Friday, Feb. 19th. Students will be participating in an E-Learning day from home due to over 600 staff members receiving their 2nd COVID vaccine on Thursday. Your child's teacher will share their classroom E-Learning schedule with you.

We want to hear from you! The good, the bad, the ugly, but hopefully mostly good! Please take a few minutes this weekend to complete the 5 Essentials Survey to let us know how we are doing. Our current parent response rate is only 1%. We need at least 20% of our parents to complete this survey in order to receive a report with feedback.

This year Erin’s Law presentations will take place during February and March. Click HERE for information about Erin's Law and the topics covered at each grade level. Mr. Marco Gasca, the OMS social worker, will be presenting in classrooms. Presentations will be one time for about 30 minutes. Classroom teachers and the social worker collaborated to determine the best times for these to occur. Classroom teachers will share the schedule for their class with you.

A few years ago OMS PTA graciously donated a set of books for parents to preview if they would like. These will be available in the office beginning Tuesday, Feb. 16th. Please email omsoffice@sd25.org to set up a time to view them.

Our January Hoot Lunch winners helped us decorate one of our entryways with their artwork so that we could also participate in the PTA's Winter Windowland project! Please stop by door 20 to see their artwork in person!
