It is time for the election of a new parent member to our School Governance Council. The School Governance Council has one parent/guardian position open for election. Parents or guardians of students who will be attending our school during both the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years are eligible to run for the parent/guardian SGC position. Our School Governance Council (SGC) plays a critical role in the success of our school. The SGC works with school leadership and the community to help determine the long-term direction of the school, design innovative solutions to increase academic achievements, and serve as school ambassadors to the local community.
Specifically, the School Governance Council has the following powers:
- Create, approve, and monitor the implementation of the school strategic plan
- Manage the Request for Flexibility process
- Approve the annual budget recommendations and related allocations
- Participate in the hiring of the principal, in the case of a vacancy
- Provide annual feedback to the Area Superintendent on principal performance
If you are interested in running for a position on the School Governance Council, please complete and submit a Parent/Guardian Candidate Declaration Form .
We are excited about the work and value-add of our SGC.
We hope that you will consider running for a position!
The Candidate Declaration period ends April 12th, 8:00 p.m.
Voting window Wednesday, April 20 (8:00 a.m.) to Wednesday, April 27th (5:00 p.m.).

Media Center Information Regarding Device Updates for Milestones
As we prepare for Milestones testing, it is more important than ever for students to make sure their devices are up to date. This will also help student devices run efficiently for class use. We are asking students to check for updates every Monday when they get home from school.
Steps to update student devices:
- At the bottom of your screen search “Check for Updates”.
- Click the gray button that says “Check for Updates".
- Please note: devices must be on, open, and charged to run updates. If the device gets closed or goes to sleep, the updates will stop running. If the battery life gets low, the updates will struggle to run.
- When the updates finish, restart your device.

FCS COVID 19 Reporting Procedures
FCS COVID 19 Reporting
Due to the ever-changing nature of this pandemic, the district will continue to monitor COVID data and recommendations, consult with public health officials, and make additional adjustments as necessary. If your child is sick, please keep them home. Families are still required to report a confirmed positive case of COVID-19, a pending COVID-19 test result (regardless of the reason for testing), and a direct contact with a person who is COVID-19 positive. FCS student/parents must use the Parent Reporting Portal to make the COVID-19 report.
