Procedural Updates
- We do not have supervision on the playground in the morning. This area is reserved for the Boys and Girls Club. Students should not play on the playground before the start of the school day.
- Winter weather is upon us. If you are in need of assistance with winter gear for your children, please contact Mrs. Mundigler at jmundigler@kewaskumschools.org
- Thank you to all of the families that filled out the parent survey at the start of the school year. We are working on making some procedural changes in the near future based on the results. Stay tuned!
Attendance
As the weather starts to cool down, we notice more sniffles and colds creeping into the classrooms. This is usually a good time to review some of the attendance policies that our district follows.
- Attendance letters are sent home when a child has 5, 10 or more than 10 days of absence (unless medically excused with a doctor’s note).
- The attendance letters that are sent out are not optional. If you receive a letter because of absences and feel the days have been miscalculated please give the office a call and we can review the days with you to make sure we have everything documented correctly.
- How do you know if your child’s absence is excused? If your child brings in a medical excuse from a doctor’s office within 30 days after an illness, appointment or procedure, those days are medically excused.
- If a parent decides to keep their child home or for a vacation, they have 10 days each year to excuse their child before it turns into an unexcused absence.
- If your child is sent home from school because they are ill, that is also an excused day.
Please keep in touch with us regarding your child’s attendance through email, or phone calls (262.626.3101).
