January was a fun filled month. Our students experienced the reptile man with two assemblies during the school day and a packed house that evening. I'm sure you heard all the rumblings of Lucy and her "gatorade" episode. If you did not, just ask your child.
We experienced a snow day and we also celebrated the life of Martin Luther King Jr. with our 3rd & 4th graders singing their hearts out! Thank you, Martin!
Ending the month of January, we celebrated our students with the PBIS character trait, RESPONSIBILITY. We have great students doing amazing things in our school. Thank you for your continued support!
Your child will be taking home their PROGRESS REPORT this Tuesday, February 4th, 2020. This progress report shares what they have learned so far this year and how they have demonstrated growth in academic areas. Please contact your teacher if you have any questions/concerns.
If you haven't heard yet, the Fife School District will be opening a new elementary. The new elementary will be located on the current FHS baseball fields. More information to the community will be coming soon, so keep an eye out for updates via social media.
In January, we sent out a request for name suggestions for the new elementary. We also asked our community for those to represent the committee for processing the name of the new school. Below are the names of committee members:
NEW SCHOOL NAMING COMMITTEE:
Discovery - Kim Pickel (Staff) & Michelle Tate (Parent)
Endeavour - Megan Allen (Staff) & Crystal Turner (Parent)
Hedden - Amanda Werner (Staff) & Katie Strom (Parent)
Jeff Nelson - Assistant Superintendent Teaching Learning & Innovation
Elaine Smith - Director - Teaching Learning & Innovation
Amy Mittelstaedt - Principal of Endeavour Intermediate & Planning Principal of New Elementary
We are meeting soon to narrow suggested names down. Our next steps will be to take the list of names back out to the community for further input. The final step will be to present names for the board members to make final decision on the new name for the elementary school.
In closing, we want to thank you for sending us your children! At Endeavour Intermediate we value your communication and support. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions and/or concerns.

Read & Lead Program Goals
At Endeavour we want to encourage all students to read outside of school. We would love to see all students participate in our Read & Lead program. All it takes is to record whatever minutes they read and turn in their reading logs to their teacher at the end of the month.
We want everybody to know what goals we are striving for this year. We have three levels of goals: Individual, Grade level, and School wide. Read & Lead is an 8 month program from October through May. It’s not too late to start participating. Every minute counts!
- The individual goal is to reach an average of the grade level monthly minutes (2nd grade goal– 300 minutes per month, 3rd grade goal– 400 minutes, 4th grade goal– 500 minutes, 5th grade goal– 600 minutes). Those who reach this goal will be invited to a celebration at the end of the year.
- The grade level goal is to reach a total of 200,000 minutes. Once a grade reaches the goal, those who have participated in Read & Lead will receive a small goodie bag.
- The school wide goal is to reach a total of 1 million minutes. This is truly a whole school goal: students and staff are participating in order to reach this goal. When this goal is reached, all those who have participated will receive a small special treat.
If you have any questions please contact your classroom teacher.

BINGO NIGHT - MARCH 27TH - PTO SPONSORED
Dear Parents and Friends,
We are writing to you on behalf of Endeavour Intermediate Parent – Teacher Organization. We are requesting your support for one of our largest and most attended fundraisers, Bingo Night & Silent Auction!
This really fun community event will be on March 27, 2020 at the Columbia Junior High School. At this time, we’re hoping you can help us with prizes and auctions items. We couldn’t provide for so many programs for our kids without the generous donations of businesses and individuals in our community.
Some ideas for donations could be gift baskets, new toys, or gift cards and can be geared toward adults or children. Any level of support that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
If you, or someone you know, can contribute in any way, please let us know. Or you can leave your donations in the bin in the Endeavour Intermediate School office.
We hope you will consider supporting the enrichment of your student alongside us. We ask that any donations be made no later than March 13th. Endeavour PTO is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and our Federal Tax ID number is 81-3420482. Please keep a copy of this letter as a receipt of your generous donation. All proceeds of this event will go to Endeavour PTO.
Thank you for your time, and we look forward to seeing you at Bingo Night!
Sincerely - Michelle Y. Lewis - mylewis78@gmail.com & Tanya Smith - tanya042276@gmail.com
