Thank you to Principal Rambone who did an excellent job leading the school on Wednesday! He caught so many kids being kind and gave out many kindness awards! He also read to PreK, administered a fire drill, took inventory of our school supplies, and inspected the faculty room!

It was such a pleasure to attend the Second Step culmination lessons in Rooms 11, 12, 7, and 8. Mrs. Kolb presented the children with special certificates after they each had a chance to share what they learned throughout the year. I was so happy to hear that our children have gained a true understanding of what empathy is, and why it is important to think of others.

We had a very productive SIT Meeting on Thursday afternoon, and I'm pleased to welcome Ms. Jennifer Cappricotta and Mr. Paul Bender to our team! Below is the slide show presentation and also notes taken by Mrs. Lucca.

It was so kind of Mrs. Hervieux’s class to create these beautiful birthday cards for North Providence resident Sgt. Victor Butler’s 100th birthday! He is the last known Tuskegee Airman survivor and all he asked for was handmade cards!

Our district Wellness Week is May 23rd-May 27th. We will participate in a variety of activities, such as taking time each day to reflect on gratitude, do some stretching and meditating, and we will have opportunities to play movement break bingo. Each class will also be assigned a different wellness topic to explore and be responsible for creating signage for the rest of the school to raise awareness on their given topic. For example, kindergarten will learn why it is important to eat fruits and vegetables every day, and then create drawings on construction paper (in school) encouraging others to eat fruits and vegetables. We will also encourage children to sign a "Healthy Habits" pledge!

Thank you to those who joined us on Tuesday night! The next meeting will be on Tuesday, June 14th at 6:30pm in the Greystone Library or you may attend via zoom.

I am so excited that we will be welcoming our incoming students into our school on June 2nd at 10:00am. This will be posted on our website and has been shared on our social media and on our DOJO account. I have also mailed invitations to all children currently registered for kindergarten at Greystone.

They will later be invited to a "Cupcakes in Kindergarten" celebration once classroom placements have been formalized.

On this day all students will visit the grade levels they will be moving on to in September. Grade 5 students will assist teachers and students in this process, as assigned by me.

Our schoolwide field day will be on June 10th, and our rain date for field day is June 13th. Thank you, Mr. Bello, and the PTA for all you are doing and planning to make this a very enjoyable day for all!

Kindergarten Moving Up Ceremony will be June 14th at 10:00am.

Grade 5 Moving On Ceremony will be June 15th at 10:00am.

Classroom teachers will be providing more information to the families of those involved in these ceremonies.

Nassim from Ms. Crudale's room offered to get a snack for a friend during snack time!

David from Mrs. Moura's room carried books for his friend and also offered a pencil to a friend, and Kenadee, also from Mrs. Moura's class helped her friend pick up books!
