Thank you to our ASB students and the incredible ASB "A" team for providing our campus a lot of fun with stress relief activities for the second week in a row!

The best part of the two stress relief weeks has been seeing our students interact and share in the activities! Today we capped off the week with a Stang Street Food Fair where clubs had the opportunity to raise funds by selling delicious food to our students. See the pics below!

Our Boys' Basketball team led by Joe Khouzam is off to a hot start in the 2022-2023 season. They are currently 9-0, with big wins over Damien and Fairmont Prep. They are currently ranked #3 in the SGV. Keep it up boys!

Congratulations to our Choir Students who were selected for the 2022 Regional Honor Choir! They were selected from hundreds of students across Southern California to rehearse and perform in a concert at the University of Redlands on November 18. The students are: Joshua Dermawan, Natalie Choy, Kian Chou, Rouhan (Tracy) Huang, Ruoqing (Judy)Huang, Ethan Chow, and Jake Xiang. This is a large number of students to represent one school, and we are so proud of them!

The ADP 11th grade class took a field trip to the University of California, Riverside, last Friday. Students were given an hour tour of the campus and got to experience and ask questions about campus life. It was a great experience for our Class of 2024 ADP students!

ALL Walnut High School Female students are invited to the Girls in Future Technologies event on December 14 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm in the MPR. There will be 10 speakers from various STEM professions. Each participant will receive a swag bag and have a chance to win raffle prizes that includes a Nintendo Switch!

Students have been having trouble accessing Aeries Grades. If they are getting an error, they need to go to the school website --> Students --> My Portal and access Aeries from there.

The library will be closed next week Tuesday through Thursday (13th-15th) due to Finals.

We come back from Winter Break mid-week, so to keep instructional minutes consistent, we will have a 1-6 collaboration day on Wednesday, January 4. January 5 and 6 will be a Regular 1-6 day.

The American Association of University Women is happy to announce that they are going to have their 7th annual speech contest. The topic is about voting rights. Great opportunity for high school students to develop communication skills. Last year the first place prize was $1500 and the local was $300 for first place. One of their first place winner is doing an internship at the Governor’s office. Looks good on applications and resumes. Judges are community members such as members of the City Council. Application Deadline: 12/15/22.

Educational travel gives students lifelong memories and helps them grow in countless ways. This includes gaining more confidence to developing a greater sense of empathy!

Mrs. O'Shields is taking students to Madrid, Barcelona & The Basque Country in the spring 2023. Explore the beautiful cities of Madrid, Segovia, Burgos, Bilboa, San Sebastian, Pamplona, and Barcelona!

Join Spanish Teacher Mrs. Lamb for a cultural , educational trip to France and Spain during Spring Break 2023. Our Tour will travel to Paris , France and visit the Louvre Museum, Versailles Palace, Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. We will travel on the TGV train to Avignon, Provence and also take Fencing and Calligraphy classes. In Spain we will visit Barcelona, Madrid and Toledo , touring the Dali ,Prado and the El Greco Museums. We will also visit Gaudi's Sagrada Familia and take the AVE train to Madrid for a cooking class and finish with Toledo.

We are thrilled to welcome you to Walnut High School. Your first week was an absolute success! While we know that the transition to high school is an exciting time, we also know that it is a time in which you will have some questions. As your Grade Level Coordinators, we look forward to supporting you each step of the way and answering each question you have. This website has a tremendous number of resources, and we encourage you to look through the content weekly. It is our goal to provide you with the most dynamic high school experience while preparing you for your post-secondary goals. GO MUSTANGS!

During the culmination of this month, our Freshmen GLCs are emphasizing Habit #3 of the Freshman Roadmap. Habit #3 emphasizes that finding resources is a necessary skill for lifelong learning and effective work in many fields. Our website, classof2026.net is a resource that helps students find answers to questions about their own about social/emotional awareness, Walnut High School graduation requirements, a through g graduation requirements, various mustang pathways and much more.

Due to many problems and safety issues we DO NOT allow student lunches to be delivered anywhere on campus.

Food, drinks or other items are NOT to be passed to students through the fence. This is strictly prohibited.

Outside Food Delivery Services such as UBER Eats/Door Dash is strictly prohibited. Food will be confiscated if deliveries are dropped off.

We understand the importance of student nutrition but we encourage students to either use the free lunch at school or bring their lunch from home.

Students must attend every class, every day, and be on time. In order to receive daily credit, students are to bring all necessary materials to class. Students will not be excused from class to get materials. Homework and class assignments are to be completed on time and to the best of the student’s ability. Only behaviors befitting the learning environment are acceptable. Students are to comply with all reasonable requests of any staff member. Dress code will be enforced.

Please remember that attendance counts, every period, every day. Students will be marked absent if they are not at the beginning of each period to verify their attendance.

All single-period absences will need to be reconciled through the attendance office by the student. If marked absent, students will receive an email from the attendance office notifying them that they have been marked absent. The notification will include the date and period of the absence. The student will need to contact the Attendance Department to make any necessary corrections to their individual period attendance. For full-day absences, a parent/guardian must contact the attendance office by the end of the day.
