This Week at Windsor...
#WEAREWINDSOR
November 10th, 2023
Windsor Families,
Today we had an amazing turnout for our Veterans Day breakfast. We were so happy to be able to honor all of those who served. A big thank you to Vince Scaletta for chairing this event and to all of the volunteers who helped make this happen.
Thank you to all who donated to our Pack the Piggies fun-raiser. While we did not meet our goal of $1000.00, we did have many people donate, so we will still celebrate by having a "piggie party" (all school dance party!). The date is to be determined.
On Thursday, we had a Let's Glow Activity Night for first graders, all children had a glowingly good time! Thank you to the first-grade activity night volunteers for this successful event!
Our Windsor Ambassadors Club is holding a Hygiene Drive. Please see the flyer below for details on the items they are looking to donate.
Please read this very important information about arrival and dismissal on Windsor Drive:
Arrival:
Please do not park on Windsor Drive. Windsor Drive is drop and go in the mornings. Please pull up as far as you can and let your child out of the car. This may mean that your child needs to walk down the sidewalk to their door to enter school. We have supervision outside to ensure that children enter the building safely. On cold and wet days, we have an increase in traffic so it is imperative that you follow these procedures to keep the Miner/Windsor intersection clear and the car line moving.
Dismissal:
Please do not double park on Windsor Drive. It is not safe to have children crossing in front of a car to get into your car. This also holds up traffic on Windsor Drive. If you cannot pull into a spot along the curb, please circle back around until you can.
Have a wonderful wildcat weekend,
Mrs. Anastacio and Mrs. Soprano
Important upcoming events:
November 14th- PTA Meeting - 7:00 PM

Notes from the Nurse:
Dental Exams:
The time off from school during the holidays can be a good time for you to schedule your child's required dental exam. Students in kindergarten and 2nd grade are required to turn in a dental exam by May 15, 2024.
Please refer to this LINK for Illinois Department of Public Health informational materials regarding influenza, meningococcal disease and vaccinations.
Stella Station
Happy Veteran’s Day to all those who have served our country. In honor of this important day, I have a Veteran’s Day STEM card activity to share with everyone. These activities are similar to the ones that students complete at school, but with a Veteran’s Day twist. You can find the activities by clicking on this link.
I hope you have a great weekend! ~Mrs. Stella
Absences/Tardies:
Please also make every effort for your child to arrive at school on time. Missing the beginning of the school day often has a negative impact on students for the rest of the day. Please contact the office if your child will be tardy or needs to leave early!
Student Health: If your child has tested positive for COVID-19, you can notify the school nurse for guidance regarding how many days it is recommended to stay home (5 days with day 0 as onset of symptoms or test day if asymptomatic) per Illinois Department of Public Health.
