Wolverine Wednesday Weekly
GHMS Updates and Notes (9/20)
Principal's Corner
This week at Godwin Heights Middle School, we have emphasized the importance of Godwin PRIDE, particularly focusing on "Discipline," which involves using self-control to make thoughtful choices.
Throughout the week, we've dedicated time to reflect on the impact of our words, both intentional and unintentional. Additionally, we've concentrated on fostering academic success by addressing grades and providing the necessary support to enhance them. Furthermore, we've discussed the significance of behavior choices in the classroom and responsible cell phone usage. Lastly, we've underscored the importance of punctuality and making wise choices when it comes to attending school and classes on time.
We kindly request your support in encouraging your students to exhibit discipline in their learning choices. When students take ownership of their learning, the foundation for success is laid. I've been reinforcing this message throughout the week: "All successes begin with self-discipline." It truly starts with them.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. By working together, we can ensure that this year at Godwin Heights Middle School is a great one for our students.
Possible student schedule changes
In the past recent days, some of our students underwent schedule changes in Math or Reading, guided by MAP test results, historical grades, and pre-tests. These changes were made to align each student with their academic needs. We recognize that change can be challenging, but we believe these adjustments will ultimately benefit them. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Parent Focus Group Starting 10/5
We are committed to nurturing a strong partnership between our school and parents/guardians to enrich the educational experience of our students. We extend a warm invitation to all parents and guardians to join our Parent Focus Group.
What is the Parent Focus Group?
The Parent Focus Group is designed to gather insights and input from parents of students currently enrolled in grades 6-12. Each session provides you with an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions alongside fellow parents and administrators. Your perspectives regarding various aspects of our school are invaluable as they drive our continuous efforts to enhance Godwin Heights Secondary Schools.
This group will assemble once a semester with the first session occurring Wednesday, October 5th, from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the High School Collaboration Center.
Your participation is of great importance to us. Together, we can collaboratively work towards making our school community even better.
