After a crazy busy week last week, the highlight this week was Valentine's Day of course. We hope you had a great short week and we get another one this week too! So fun. We've got some upcoming good stuff with our High School BBQ thisTuesday when we get back. Please sign up to contribute to the festivities this Tuesday!
Reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, February 19th in honor of President's Day.
This week's background features a social media post from out TPSF Teens as they participated in a Paper Football fundraiser for TPSF in the community. Super fun.

Principal's Message...
As we continue to navigate through the 2nd semester of the school year, this is a great time to review academic and behavior goals with your students. Academic progress along with progress with executive functioning skills like planning, organization, and staying on track to complete your plan are all great skills and without them, success at Tustin Connect can be difficult. Our teachers and Mrs. Wijnhamer are great resources for this work. Please encourage your student and continue to provide the structure and space to figure out what works for them. It is an invaluable life skill. If you're looking for ideas of how to support your child in this area, take a look at the linked slides from a previous Principal/Counselor Coffee. There are some amazing ideas and resources you could implement today.
As always, if you have any questions, compliments, ideas, and/or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out at (714) 430-2052 ext. 52103 or efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us. Have a great weekend.
Mr. Fineberg

4th-6th Graders: Walkthrough California 3/6: Reminder that on March 6th students will be working together to participate in an interactive presentation about the history of California. Each student has been assigned a part and has 1 or 2 vocabulary words to memorize for the event. Please help them practice before the big day! Students are welcome and encouraged to dress up for the presentation in time period clothing (miners, 1800s, etc.) or any California-related costumes. Thank you PTA for sponsoring this awesome experience!
Trimester 2 Assessments: The second trimester ends on February 23rd. In the upcoming weeks, staff will be assessing student progress for the upcoming report cards. Please make sure your child attends all required class times so as not to miss these important assessments. If your child is sick, please contact us as soon as possible so we can arrange for a time to make up what was missed in class.
Weekly Schedule: There are no changes to the weekly schedule at the K-8 campus. Students will continue to attend on their assigned day(s) in-person as well as virtually along with the additional office hours time. If your student has scheduled 1:1 or small group time with the teacher or one of our aides, that time is required, and attendance is recorded.
Treats/Food: Last week a few students brought treats to class on Wednesday to pass out to the students. If you would like to bring treats or donate snacks, please make sure everything is labeled with ingredients and please avoid items with nuts, as we have students with food allergies and want everyone to be safe.
School Readiness Parent Education Opportunities: Our School Readiness Department offers monthly meetings for parents on topics specific to our younger students. Please check out the flyers for topics that may be of interest to you or your family each month. English Spanish
