Goal Setting Conferences- Oct. 15th and Oct. 17th
In response to parent feedback regarding student progress and communication, Urbandale Elementary Schools will be hosting fall conferences focused on setting goals for the second year. Our Valerius teachers have been working hard to prepare for these conversations. One goal of our fall conferences is for parents to receive progress information earlier in the year than in the past. We want to work together as a team to meet the learning, behavior, and social/emotional goals of our students!
Please note that due to the timing you will NOT be receiving your child's progress report (report card) at conferences as you have in the past. Instead, your child's teacher will share your student's successes, growth, and goals as s/he continue to progress this year. Then, at the end of our first trimester in November, progress cards will be shared.
Lastly, the BOOK FAIR will be going on in the media center. Be sure to stop by and purchase some books to support those reading goals and celebrate a great conversation with your student's teacher.
VALERIUS- WHERE KINDNESS IS CONTAGIOUS!
The Kindness Crew for October chose the theme "Run for Kindness" to go along with our fundraiser. This week's mission will be for all students to run another 5-10 laps during the last week of running club and cheer each other on.
On Friday to celebrate our last day of Field Trip Fun Run donations our Kindness Crew chose to have grade levels dress by color. I thought this was a clever idea and I'm excited to see how this looks! Colors by grade level are:
Kindergarten- Yellow
First Grade- Orange
Second Grade- Red
Third Grade- Green
Fourth Grade- Blue
Fifth- Grade- Black
Running Club Announcment
Running with a loved one was a huge success! It was so great to see our Valerius families come out to support our students during their recess and running club time.
Next Friday, Oct. 18th will be our last day of Fall Running Club. It will be back in the spring of 2020.
