A Message from our Principal + VP

Hey Future Spartan Families - we can't wait for you to officially become a Spartan next school year! Stauffer is known for its excellent academic offerings, amazing culture and family atmosphere. Teachers and staff go above and beyond to provide a 21st Century education that pushes creative boundaries in a safe environment built on strong character.


Our primary focus is to ensure each student is prepared for success in high school and beyond. In addition to rigorous academic courses, our students are exposed to award-winning band, drama, film/television, culinary arts, robotics, GATE and AVID programs.


We hope you will join us for Future Spartan Night on Thursday, March 30th from 5:30pm-7:00pm beginning in the Stauffer Middle School gym.

Art 6: Mr. Rowland

Do you love art? Do you want to improve your skills, try your hand at watercolors, ceramics, character design or painting?

Are you curious about other artists and their style?

If Art is something you would be interested in, make sure to sign up for Art during 6th grade elective registration!

Band: Mr. Zarate

Learn how to read music and make new friends while participating in fun outside of school activities like parades, performances, and lunchtime jam sessions.

Do you want to learn how to play a musical instrument?

Learn to play: Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone or drums. Don't worry about owning any of these instruments, you are able to borrow them!

Band provides opportunities for high school and beyond!

Marching Band is a great way to get involved and stay involved - if you love band and performing while at Stauffer, you can join the Warren High School band and perform at football games, pep rallies, and march in parades!

Culinary Arts: Ms. Clark

Stauffer’s Culinary Classroom is designed to help kids learn about food. Cooking engages students with different interests and abilities, and creates a whole lot of deliciousness along the way.

Are you interested in learning to cook?

This classroom is a place where students are encouraged to take risks, embrace and learn from failures and develop a healthy and positive relationship with food.

Do you like food and want to learn new recipes?

The class lessons teach recipes that empower the students to become cooks, engaged eaters and curious experimenters.

Drama: Ms. Pyle

Whether you're shy or outgoing, you can unleash your creativity while having fun! You will make new friends and get over stage-fright in an entertaining and social environment.

Have you always wanted to work in front of or behind the camera?

We will perform a puppet show, film and edit commercials,

give a speech and be the only 6th graders on Spartan TV!

Drama will provide opportunities for high school and beyond!

If you end up loving drama, once you’re in 7th grade, you can join the Advanced Drama class and perform in full-length musicals. Warren High School also has an awesome drama program and many of our students continue their Drama journey in high school and beyond!

Gateway to Technology: Mr. Donahue + Mr. T

In this class you will learn about the Engineering Design Process and how it applies to the world of STEAM. You will also experience a sample of the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) engineering classes we offer here at Stauffer.

Spanish: Ms. Flores

Have you always wanted to learn conversational Spanish?

Want to learn how to speak a second language?

This class will introduce you to the Spanish language. You will learn new vocabulary and practice speaking daily. You will develop listening, speaking, and writing skills in your new second idioma (language).

Get prepared for high school and beyond!

Taking a Spanish class in middle school prepares you for high school and beyond! All high school students, in order to earn a diploma, must take at least two years of a foreign language.

Academic Support

If you need extra help in math or English, your teacher may recommend that your elective will become an Academic Support Class.


Students are given the chance to improve their grades and develop positive habits through:

  • Goal Setting
  • Use of Organizational Strategies
  • Strengths Assessments
  • Team bonding
  • Teacher support
  • Lessons in self-advocacy

New Spartan Orientation: August 10, 2023

Parents will meet with Stauffer Staff to go over schedules, PE, school procedures, Canvas, Q Parent Portal communication and more. Students will meet their 8th grade WEB Leader and get a campus tour!
