PSAT 2018:

The PSAT will be offered at CB West High School on Saturday, October 13th, 2018. This exam is recommended for all college-bound 10th and 11th grade students as practice for the SAT. Sophomore Evening Information Session:

Both parents and students are invited to an evening presentation on Thursday, September 20th at 6:30pm in the CB West auditorium. Topics will include transitioning from the middle school to high school, important events, and goals for Sophomore year. Ms. Dallam and Mr. Curtis, your Sophomore House counselors, hope to see you there!

Junior Evening Information Session:
An Information session for Junior students and parents will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 6:30pm in the CB West Auditorium. Topics will include: Junior Year Timeline; Planning for Options after High School; College Admission Tests; College and Career resources; and Suggestions for a Successful Junior Year. Mrs. Bagnick and Mrs. Corr, your Junior House counselors, look forward to seeing you there!

Financial Aid Night -- The CBSD Financial Aid Night will take place on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 7:00 pm at CB South in the Auditorium. CB South is located at 1100 Folly Road, Warrington, PA 18976. The presenter will be Ms. Bonnie Behm, Director of Financial Assistance at Villanova University. Topics will include types of financial aid, the application process (using the FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid), timelines and deadlines, and tips for comparing offers of aid from various schools. Seniors and their parents are especially encouraged to attend.

College Visits -- Each day, admission representatives from up to four colleges visit CBW. The representatives who give these presentations are typically the ones responsible for reviewing students’ applications, so this in an invaluable opportunity to make a personal connection with that person. Students should sign up through Naviance (College Tab →Research Colleges →College Visits and click on the “Register Now” button). You will receive a confirmation email to your CB email account. Students should either print this email as their pass to attend the visit, or they may obtain a pass from the Guidance Office.

We will hold our 2nd Annual Student Activities Fair on Wednesday, September 26 during an extended Advisory in the Main Gym. Representatives from each of CB West's clubs and student activities will be on hand to share information and answer questions. All students will attend the fair with their advisory at a designated time. CB West has over 60 clubs and student organizations. These clubs and organizations represent a variety of interests and sponsor a multitude of events. We hope that every student finds at least one club or organization at the fair that inspires him or her to get involved at CB West!

The daily announcements offer the most comprehensive listing of meetings, fundraisers, and events in our school. You can watch the daily announcements scrolling on TV monitors throughout the building. Look for club and student activities fliers posted on bulletin boards and tack strips throughout our school.

On Mondays, we air a live stream broadcast from our TV Studio called “The Black and Gold.” This show highlights information about some of the biggest events and initiatives in our school.

On Fridays, we air episodes of Chatterbux. Chatterbux is a TV show produced by members of the Media Production classes. Chatterbux highlights a variety of aspects of student life here at CB West.

ATHLETIC PASSES

For the entire month of September, the Antler Yearbook we will hold a Back to School special, where books will be only $70! You may order online at www.jostens.com or by filling out an order form, available on the Antler website. Please email Erin Walsh (elwalsh@cbsd.org) with any ordering questions.

Picture day has been rescheduled to Monday, September 24th.

All 11th grade and 12th grade students will have their picture taken in the morning. Time has been scheduled in the afternoon for any 10th grade student who did not have his/her picture taken on September 6th. Revised Picture Day Schedule

ALL students, including seniors, need to have their picture taken to receive an ID badge, even if you are not purchasing photos. ID badges are required for sophomores, juniors and seniors. Photo forms can be found on our West website Picture Day order form or at the reception desk in the main lobby. Picture re-takes are scheduled for October 19th.

Our first Parent Positive event will be held on Thursday, September 27th at 7 PM at Lenape Middle School.

Brooks Gibbs is an award winning social skills educator who teaches students, parents, and teachers how to build emotional resilience and live by the Golden Rule. His program Raise Them Strong empowers students to make friends and manage emotions. He has spoken to over 2,500 schools and shared his message with over 2 million students.

Come out for a community open house of Minimus Tiny House at CB West off of MacFarlane Lane from 5 PM to 7 PM on Monday, September 17. Minimus was created by local artist and CB West alumni Melissa Matarese of Mesa Lifestyle last year at Delaware Valley University with the helping hands and hearts of our local community. Take this opportunity to get inside a functioning off grid tiny house, ask questions and meet the artist.
