Dear OMS families,

We apologize for the delay in our weekly Olive Branch. We had a wonderful week back at the nest! The students had SNOW much fun at recess this week. We are so impressed with how creative they are with their forts, sculptures, and games. Stay warm, everyone!

Upcoming School Pictures

Great news! We are still taking school pictures on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 19th, and 20th. All hybrid attending students will take pictures in the morning on the day they attend. The afternoons will be reserved for remote students to sign up for a time to come to school.

Remote Families: please sign up for a time slot to come to the school for a socially distanced photo. Each time slot will let you sign up for up to three children within a family. We will greet your child at the door for a temp check and allow the students to enter the commons for their photo. Parents will be asked to wait outside.

School photos are being taken by Inter•State Studio. All orders will be placed online this year. Please visit inter-state.com/order and use Code: 50852YF to place your order. Online payments can be made via e-check, debit or credit card, or PayPal.

The 50 One's by Wacom, purchased with our awarded ABC 25 Grant, will arrive this week. All of our staff members that work with students will have one. These new devices will be used in our classrooms. The main benefit of the One device is that it gives teachers the ability to draw online. If you can't imagine how difficult it is to write out a math equation using your mouse or trackpad, try it! The One tablet and pen will make it so much easier for our teachers to write and draw online for our students. There are probably 100's of additional uses! As we begin to learn about this new device we hope to share its benefits with you!

I was able to find out that we only have about 25.8% of our families that have joined ABC25. The grant money that is awarded to D25 schools comes from our community joining ABC 25. OMS has benefitted from these grants for years. Please help us to support this foundation!

Click here to join! If at least 25% of our families join, our school automatically receives a $2,500 grant to be used at the school's discretion. While we have hit this milestone, I know that we can far surpass 25.8% membership. Thanks in advance for supporting OMS and D25!
