Today I will be sending an email with a chart for all to link in their documentation/evidence for how you've used the Effective Communicator and Engaged Collaborator rubrics with students this year. I just need one copy per trimester for each grade level/team. Please be sure to link your evidence onto the chart by Wednesday, May 22nd so that I can determine to what level we have achieved the goal (scale 1-4).
Parent Goal 2023/2024
All certified staff should include a link to or evidence of their contribution to the Parent Goal on the google document below by the end of the day, Wednesday May 22nd.
Parent Feedback Goal:
CGS will provide opportunities for families to volunteer in all classrooms once in the fall and once in spring. These opportunities can be achieved in a variety of ways including volunteering to read to a class, assisting with a craft during the holidays or by sharing special talents for career exploration. CGS will utilize a google document to collect fall and spring volunteer visits.

Fun For Teachers Grant Opportunity
Congratulations to Matt Kyer who applied for and was awarded the Fun for Teachers grant! Matt will be traveling to Kenya in June with the organization, American Friends of Kenya. Matt wrote a proposal to join the AFK who collect used books (enough to fit into a shipping container) to distribute to schools and libraries in Africa. The organization helps libraries to categorize and organize the books to encourage people there to borrow and engage with them. Matt's hope is to share American and European folktales while bringing back Kenyan folktales to build up the folktale collection at CGS; in an effort to continue to offer diverse topics to our students. Matt would like to encourage teachers at CGS to speak with him about the grant.
