December All-Day Program Information

Adventuretime will be offering All-Day programming during winter break. The dates we will be offering programming are: December 22nd and 27th-30th, 2022 from 6:30 AM-6:00 PM. Click the links below for more detailed information regarding programming activities and registration.

Before/After School Programming Reminders


  • Adventuretime Before/After School Drop-Off/Pick-Up Procedures: Parents/guardians are required to walk students into the designated entrance of the facility to sign their student in/out. Families will not be allowed past the sign in/out table.
  • Please make sure to bring a form of ID. Greeters will be IDing any parents they are not familiar with.
  • If your student will not be attending Adventuretime on a certain day, please communicate with your schools team leader.

  • Please make sure your child is wearing weather appropriate clothing as temperatures begin to drop, especially in the mornings.

Adventuretime Delay, Cancelation, and Early Dismissal Reminders

If the Urbandale School District cancels, delays, or dismisses early… Adventuretime and Preschool will also cancel, delay, or dismiss early.


Cancelation: If school is cancelled, there will be NO Adventuretime before/after school programming or preschool.


2-Hour Delay: If school is on a 2-hour delay, then the Adventuretime "before school program" will open at 8:30 AM instead of 6:30 AM.

  • Preschool: No AM and no PM half-day preschool
  • Karen Acres, Valerius, and Webster Elementary Schools: 10:55 AM.
  • Olmsted and Rolling Green Elementary Schools: 11:05 AM.
  • If we were to have a 2-hour weather delay on a previously scheduled “Late Start Monday” for Preschool through 8th grades, the “PreK-8 Late Start” would be cancelled. The start time for all schools would be two hours after their regular start time. Our goal is to inform families & staff of school delays by 5:45 AM.


2-Hour Early Dismissal: If school dismisses 2-hours early, there will be no Adventuretime “after school program.” Students who normally attend Adventuretime after school programming, will need to be picked up as soon as school is out at 2:15 PM.

Important Dates

Adventuretime will offer All-Day Programming at Karen Acres Elementary on the following dates from 6:30 AM-6:00 PM:


  • November 23
  • December 22, 27, 28, 29, 30
  • March 10, 13, 14, 15, 16


Please Note: In-service days and recess days are not included in the 180 actual school days. You must pre-register and pay an additional cost for all day childcare.



No Adventuretime or Preschool will be offered at Valerius, Karen Acres, Olmsted, Rolling Green or Webster on the following dates:

  • November 24, 25
  • December 23, 26
  • January 2, 16
  • February 20
  • March 17
  • April 28
  • May 29

No Adventuretime will be offered at Rolling Green on the FLEX Calendar on the following dates:
  • November 22 & 23
  • March 20-24
  • May 1-5


Please Note: Rolling Green intersession programming information for the 2022-2023 school year can be found on the Rolling Green Elementary website. Adventuretime does not coordinate the Rolling Green Intersession program.
