Weekly Update
Hello Foster’s Finest,
There are a few things I need to ask of you. There has been an increase in students being let out of the cars in the car loop before staff has come outside in the morning. Please refrain from doing this as it is concerning to think of a student being outside without staff supervision outside of the kindergarten wing. We also want to remind everyone that you should not be getting out of your vehicle to come around and open the door to the vehicle. We have staff along the sidewalk who can help with this. Finally, if everyone could please pull forward in the loop. It helps us get more students out of the vehicle and it helps us move the traffic off the street.
This is a gentle reminder that it is the rule of the district that you must be CORI checked before we can allow you to go down into the classrooms during school hours. This information has been in a prior communication from me. You never know when you might find yourself wanting to help in the classroom so please, take a moment to stop in and Mrs. Wanty will gladly help you. It takes two minutes to complete. Don't forget to bring your driver's license. There are lots of opportunities in the coming months to be a part of the school so please plan ahead.
There are a few important pieces of information that I need to communicate about next week. There was a misprinted calendar earlier in the school year that had an extra half-day. The only half-day next week is on Wednesday, February 1. Superintendent Adams will be joining us at our PTA meeting next Thursday at 6:00 PM. She will be presenting information about the budget and answering questions. The meeting is in the school library at 6:00 PM.
Finally, if you have not heard the news, Mrs. Quinlivan is our librarian here at Foster. She has been a parent of Foster Students, has subbed in our school, and has been a welcome addition as a member of our school community. We are fortunate to have her working with our team helping make our library a special place for our students.
Have a super weekend!
Mr. Scheufele
