Let's Talk TPS District Communication - November 3, 2021

Hello November

TPS Families -

The frenzy of fall has subsided. We've carved pumpkins, planted fall flowers, and pulled out our cozy sweaters. Now, we get to take a deep breath of crisp air and settle into November. November is also a short month with days off for Teachers' Convention and the Thanksgiving holiday. Please remember that tomorrow and Friday our schools are closed.


We also remind you that our first full musical in three years happens at THS this month. Our students, staff, and volunteers have been busy working to make this an incredible performance of Spring Awakening. Be sure to buy your tickets and support our theater program at http://www.thstheater.com.


Enjoy the extra long weekend and we look forward to seeing you all back and ready for all of the wonderful things happening in our schools next week.

Music to Our Ears

Congratulations to senior Hannah Park and junior Angelina Lee who were named to the National Association for Music Education’s All-National Orchestra! Each year, Tenafly High School students win a multitude of recognitions for their many talents, but Hannah and Angelina are two of the first to achieve All-National Orchestra. The award includes rehearsals with the 2021 ANHE Conductors, workshops with renown clinicians, and each ensemble will create a final, recorded performance, which will be premiered online during the 37th-annual Music In Our Schools Month (MIOSM). The virtual 2021 All-National Honor Ensembles program will take place on Saturday, January 22 – Monday, January 24, 2022. Bravo! Bravo!

Tenafly's Got Talent

Auditions for the 8th annual Tenafly’s Got Talent will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 9th and 10th from 3:20pm to 5pm in THS Room 126. You must register to audition. THS presents Spring Awakening - November 18, 19, and 20, 2021 at 7:30pm. Spring Awakening is a coming-of-age rock musical with music by Duncan Sheik and a book and lyrics by Steven Sater. It is based on the 1891 German play Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind. Purchase tickets at thstheater.com
