Your Weekly Update from Lilja Elementary School
Dr. Marscher's Message
Thank you!
I would like to thank you all for the positive feedback you shared with Dr. Nolin. I am so very grateful and excited for this opportunity to stay on as your principal. It is hard to believe that ten months ago I had no plans to step into this role, and the resulting whirlwind chain of events that has led to this new career path still leaves me with a feeling of amazement. I am successful because of you all and your support, and I am committed to continuing on in partnership with you. Our goals will continue to be providing enriching, supportive learning experiences for children, and pushing our own practices and skills so that we may grow together as a community.
This week in 3rd Grade...
To end the weather and climate unit, 3rd grade students designed and built solutions to stop or minimize the problem of urban runoff. They researched information and built model rain gardens, rain barrels, green roofs, and permeable pavement. After testing our solutions using water mixed with pollutants (oil & sprinkles), students reflected on how they would improve their models!

Parents of incoming Kindergarten students are invited to meet with the Elementary School Principals to learn more about the Kindergarten onboarding process, overall curriculum goals, and how Natick Public Schools works to support its youngest learners.
