St. Luke Weekly Memo
May 10, 2021
Leadership Message
Dear St. Luke Families,
A very Happy Mother’s Day to all our Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties who we are blessed to have in our lives. I hope this day is filled with love. This month provides us with an opportunity to focus on our relationship with the Holy Mother. Have your children say a prayer to Mary this week as she has so much to teach us and endless love to give.
Monday our online learning begins again. Thank-you to all of you who are working so hard at keeping students actively participating online. We have seen great success with student attendance so far and look forward to that active participation again. Please reach out to your child’s teacher or myself if you are having any difficulty with technology or any other issues. We are more than willing to assist you.
Thank-you to those who have been sending in pictures of your child’s online learning. We are looking for more pictures of online learning to put into the yearbook. Please email your child’s teacher or send them to myself at cathyhi@eics.ab.ca.
This Sunday begins Catholic Education week.”Those Who hope in the Lord will renew their strength” - Isaiah 40:3. We will celebrate by wearing blue on Thursday. Have your child wear blue and send in your pictures or tweet them out.

Archbishop Smith Speaks on New Health Restrictions
A message from Father Jim
By now you will be aware that we are limited to a maximum of 15 people attending Mass in the parish. This includes priest, musician, etc. This is effective today, May 5, 2021. I will send something more comprehensive once we come up with an implementation plan for who gets to come to Mass. For now, please know that you will receive an email or a phone call asking you to not attend Mass, because you signed up after the first fifteen folks. This is for weekday and weekend Masses. Please know that we are considering fairness as a major part of this planning. Please do not just show up. There will be no wiggle room and I am the last person who wants to turn you away at the door. But I will have to, so please do not put us in that position.
My friends, we can like it or not like it, but we still operate on the premise of being part of the solution and not part of the problem. I do know you understand this. Please let us pray for one another and know that our livestream at www.olph.ca, Telus channel 877 and phone options at 888-657-4808 for Masses are fully available to you at this time.
If you have thoughts about how to move forward, please send them to jcorrigan@olph.ca
God’s blessings,
Fr. Jim
