Academic Screeners for Math and Reading Starting Soon
During the 2023-2024 school year, it will be imperative to know where each student is academically at the start of the year so that we can ensure that instruction aligns to individual student needs. In order to obtain this information and monitor progress throughout the school year, the district will be administering an academic screener in math and reading according to the schedule below.
- PK-2 Grade:
Beginning, middle and end of year for all students
- 3-8 Grade/Algebra I/English I & II:
Beginning and middle of year for all students and end of year for grades 3-5.
Below is information related to the beginning-of-year (BOY) math and reading screeners.
Pre-Kindergarten:
- CIRCLE Progress Monitoring Reading and Math Assessment
- BOY Screener Window: September 18th-October 11th
K-2nd Grade:
- mCLASS Texas Reading Assessment
- IXL Diagnostic Math Assessment
- BOY Screener Window: August 28th-September 29th
3rd-8th Grade/Algebra I/English I & II:
- MAP Growth Reading and Math Assessment
- BOY Screener Dates:
- Elementary Campuses: Math, September 6th and Reading, September 7th
- Secondary Campuses: Math, September 13th and Reading, September 14th
After the close of the assessment window and reports are generated, you will be notified of when to expect your student's results. For students taking the MAP assessments, scores will be available for the student to see immediately after the completion of the test.
Reminder from AISD Police Department
For parents and students arriving at the Aledo High School-Daniel Ninth Grade campus between 7-7:40 a.m.: Please do not use the Vernon Road entrance into the AHS-DNG campus as that is the drop-off time for Coder Elementary, which creates heavy traffic. Please use Champions Drive to get to the AHS-DNG campus between 7-7:40 a.m. for easier, less congested access.
TxDOT I-20 Lane Closure in Hudson Oaks
The right lane of east and westbound I-20 will be closed as needed from East Bankhead Drive to Clear Lake Road for roadwork from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday -Thursday, Aug. 28-31.
TxDOT encourages attention to all warning signs within the work zone as crews complete this project as quickly and safely as possible.

CAUTION: As we are experiencing record heat in North Texas, we urge you to seriously consider how you will react to prolonged exposure to the extreme heat if you plan to attend this Friday's football game in person. We always keep a close eye on our student-athletes and other participants and their well-being even if they are more conditioned to the weather after a long acclimation period. If you are at all concerned about the heat and your health, please keep in mind how serious heat-related conditions can be. Please share with your children and family who may be in attendance, as well, and also remember that there are options to view the game online.
We will be filling large jugs of water and will have cups graciously donated by Chick-fil-A of Hudson Oaks available under both the home and visitor stands for fans to use to cool down with during the game. Thanks Chick-Fil-A for partnering with Aledo ISD to help our fans beat the heat!
Aledo ISD Strategic Partner Information
Aledo Children's AdvoCats Membership Open
Aledo Children's AdvoCats is proud to partner with AISD in helping students and families. Because of supporters throughout the district, we have been able to help fulfill unmet needs and aid children and families in Aledo ISD communities since 2002. It is our goal to not only provide basic needs but also provide students with the opportunity to participate in advanced academic courses and pursue post-secondary education.
Through our partnership with Aledo ISD, during the 2022-2023 school year, generous financial contributions and volunteer efforts have enabled us to provide qualified students and families with financial assistance for needs such as medical, dental, and vision expenses, counseling, career, and technical education courses, living expenses, clothing needs, and crisis intervention. Last year, nearly 600 children received $81,000 worth of assistance, 574 children were sponsored through the Angel Project, food cards were given at Thanksgiving and Christmas totalling over $25,000, and $21,000 in scholarships were awarded. We also provided $43,332 worth of clothing through our resale boutique, the Clothes Closet.
