Back-to-School Updates
August 1, 2022
Dear ZBTHS D126 families,
The District has provided a safe return to in-person instruction and continuity of service plans to families through the District's website and Remind notification system. We will provide the continuity of services for academics through our online learning platform, CANVAS, for social-emotional and mental health through tele-meetings with counselors and social workers, and for health services through teleconferences with our school nurse.
The District's Business, Bid, and Finance Committee will review and update this plan every 6 months by seeking and taking input from our entire school community during board meetings. The District will also gain public input by staying connected with the community by utilizing our social media through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Remind. Please contact the building principal directly with questions, comments, or ideas to improve students' safe return to in-person instruction.
The District's decision to return to in-person instruction was based on guidance that we are following from the Illinois Dept of Public Health (IDPH) and Lake County Health Dept (LCHD). The District's plan includes class schedules, mask/face coverings, safety measures, and back-to-school activities.
The following is essential information regarding programs and policy updates for the 2022-2023 school year. Principals will also be sending you detailed information that will help you prepare for the new school year. Please contact them directly with questions and/or ideas as legendary service is our primary goal.
Masks/Face Coverings:
Masks are optional
We will maintain the health and safety of students and staff through additional safety measures:
Daily cleaning and disinfecting
Promoting good hand hygiene
Increased airflow/ventilation in school buildings
Promoting that everyone stays home when sick
Directional traffic flow (stay to the right, please)
Back-to-School Activities:
First Day of School for All Students: August 17, 2022
