Good Evening Yowell Families,

This is Mrs. Fiscus with your weekly update. This is a busy week at Yowell Elementary. Invited students to our Summer Academy will have a form in their Tuesday folder. Please fill these out and return them to school so we can plan for the summer.

This week will be conducting one of our state-mandated Intruder Drills. Teachers will be going over the practices and procedures for this type of drill, as well as behavior expectations, with all students. During the drill, our building, including the main office, will be closed and locked. Please be patient if you visit or call the school during this drill.

We will be hosting our kindergarten orientation Wednesday, April 26, from 5:30-6:30pm here at Yowell. If you have a child that will be attending Yowell next school year as a kindergartner, we hope you can join the event. Kindergarten registration for the 2023-2024 school year is open on the CCPS website.

Our students in grades 3-5 will take the reading SOL this week. Please be mindful of early dismissals or tardies on testing days for these students. If your child has an appointment please make sure to let your child's teacher know.

In an effort to assist schools and parents with current information about bus changes, transportation has added a new item on their website called: Transportation - Morning Update. The direct link can be found here.

We will be posting departure times for buses each day to assist parents with receiving their child from the bus stop. Please check this document each afternoon.
