COVID Update
I'm happy to report we had a much quieter week on the COVID front and here's hoping that continues. We've figured out ways to keep our kids safe at school and are putting even more space between the students at lunch when they have their masks off, space is tight but our teachers are getting creative. The following are ways you can continue to support at home:
- Remind your child of the appropriate way to wear their mask and why it's important to wear it. I continue to very impressed with how the students handle the mask requirement.
- Please continue to closely monitor your child and keep them out of school if they are exhibiting any symptoms and let us know at the school. We are closely tracking and monitoring all of this to help us keep an eye out for any potential trouble areas.
- I'm sure I don't need to tell you the spread of COVID in our community is on the rise again and we know kids are susceptible to contracting it and spreading it to others. We are not the only school in DPS impacted by positive cases, we were just the first. When you are out and about and doing things outside of school, please keep in mind your actions have a bigger impact than on your family alone. Your child spends the day with 16-23 other students and those students go home to their families at the end of the day. It is important that we work together to keep our whole Easley family protected. We will do everything we can on our end to prevent the spread within our building but we need your help too.
- Continue to keep the lines of communication open and let us know if your child has been exposed to COVID outside of school so we can plan and monitor accordingly.

We had more parents on the SIT ballot this year than any other year and I am so appreciative to all of you who volunteered to serve in the capacity. We had 153 votes and the following four individuals will serve as our new SIT Representatives for the next two school years.
