HBCU Tour Update
We had a great experience on the HBCU Tour this past week. Chester High School took both Seniors and Juniors as well as a few exceptional Sophomores. What a week. We have all of our 12 Seniors receive acceptances to 33 Colleges and Universities. This was an experience that they will remember for a lifetime. The excitement of both Students and Staff as the acceptances came rolling in was a sight to see. We should be very proud of all our attendees as they showed up and showed out!!!! Chester High Students were spectacular this week!!! Congrats to the Seniors for setting the stage for a bright future!
Congratulations to Chester High School DECA Competitors
Although we did not place to compete in the DECA National Competitions, we are proud of their recent success They took a leap of being out of their comfort zone and show others, what C-pride is all about. Please say congratulations to Mr. Mylan Sudler- Jones for placing 1st place with the top score in his category of Personal Finance Literacy. Jackson Bivens even graced the stage to show them what pure beauty and class looks like. DECA is an organization to prepare students for the world of Business, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism. Thank you all for supporting our students and helping them to become successful.
CTE Culinary Team takes 2nd Place at the CUSD Science Fair
We're delighted to report that Chef Harris' Chester High School CTE Culinary team took 2nd place - high school - in the 2023 CUSD Science Fair. Leadrian Maldonado and Elijah Williams worked closely with our Ag-Lab team the past 5 weeks to design and 3D print a marketable water filtration system. Their theme was "clean food needs clean water". Congratulations Chef Harris and the Team for this awesome accomplishment.
Attendance Matters
Please make sure students are in school on time everyday. If a student is late they must get a late pass for the attendance to be recorded accurately. Please also provide documentation for any absence to be excused.
Interim Grades/Progress Reports
We are deep in the 3rd marking period. Interim grades have been turned in, please be on the lookout for progress reports so you can contact your student teacher with any questions and concerns.
Uniforms
Please make sure students are in the Chester High Uniform daily. Uniforms are available for purchase in the school store daily for those who need to purchase a new uniform shirt.
Hall Walking and Class Cutting
Please talk to your student about cutting class and walking in the hall ways. Letters will be going home to those who are constant hall walkers requesting an administrative meeting with a parent or guardian. Students cannot continue to disrupt the learning environment and this is a safety issue and concern as well. We are asking for everyone's support as we continue to improve the culture of Chester High School and continue our growth academically.
