God of light, shine forth, show us how to bring hope to others.
God of mercy, help us to comfort your people and share their joy.
God of hope, make us an Advent people, preparing the way for life in all its fullness.
Amen
Advent is a time of waiting and quiet preparation. As we participate in the season of Advent, and prepare for the coming of Jesus, may we continue to show generosity to those in need and reflect God’s love in all that we say and do. On behalf of the staff of Divine Mercy, Merry Christmas to you and your family. May the peace of the Advent season, the joy of Christmas, and the excitement of a new year be a part of your celebrations. Wishing you and your families a blessed Christmas and a safe and joyful New Year.
Virtue of the Month: Hope

Hope Has Come
Thursday, December 1st, 2022 Divine Mercy Student Retreat
We are hopeful. We are guided by hope. We remain hopeful.
“For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” - Isaiah 9:6
We are excited here at Divine Mercy to host our 1st annual school wide retreat. This year’s retreat “Hope Has Come” will take place Thursday, December 1st 2022, giving our students the opportunity to live their faith through prayer, reflection, and service to others.
All students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 and staff will join together to share a day of prayer, in depth reflection and reverence. Our school is centered around the message and teachings of Jesus Christ and it is important that we take time as a school community to open our heart and minds as we try to grow closer to him. Students will be grouped from FDK, Gr 1-3, and Gr 4-8, will spend the day reflecting on how God brings us hope, how we are guided by this hope, how we can believe in the impossible because of hope, and how we find comfort in hope.
We will begin the day with the entire school community gathering in the Gym for Mass. Students will then be put into their travelling pod and spend the day in appropriate activities. You will note the day’s agenda. Please note the modified lunch time.
