Talking Points App
Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools is excited to introduce a new texting tool that will help families connect better with their schools and teachers. We heard in our communication survey that text messages are the preferred communication method to receive information from GJPS and to support this feedback, we are expanding our district use of TalkingPoints to all staff and families.
TalkingPoints is a texting platform that allows families to receive the messaging as a text or through the TalkingPoints app. It also provides instant access to the messages in more than 150 languages. For families who choose to receive TalkingPoint communication straight to your text inbox, you will need to save the text numbers separately so you know who they are from. Otherwise, we encourage you to download the TalkingPoints for Parents mobile app in the app store on your iPhone or Android for additional features. More information about accessing messages can be found on our GJPS District website.
You should have received a text message on Wednesday. If you did not receive it, please read the directions above. If you need further assistance, feel free to email Mrs. Beaver at beaverj@gjps.org.

Family Directory **PLEASE READ**
Our PTA is working on creating a family directory to share. This directory could be used for families to connect outside of school for playdates, birthday parties, etc. Information in the directory will include;
- Student Name
- Parent(s) Names
- Mailing Address
- Parent(s) Phone Numbers
- Parent(s) Email Address
- Grade Level/Teacher
Everyone was asked when doing their parent update in Infinite Campus this year if they wanted to be a part of the directory. If you checked, "yes", your child's information will be shared. If you checked, "no", your child's information will not be included.
If you have changed your mind and DO NOT want your information shared, please email Mrs. Carr at carrc@gjps.org by December 1st and we will take you off the list.
Book Fair This Week!
Hello High Point Family!
This is Mrs.Block wanting to let you know that I am SO excited for the Scholastic Book Fair to be returning this winter! Your kiddos should have taken home a flier and a letter explaining more about Book Fair. I really want to point out that unfortunately tax is not included in the book price. I want to give families plenty of time to sit down together and decide which books your kiddos might want to get and figure out how much money they will need since tax will now be added to the book price. I will also need volunteers to help me out and I have created a sign up genius if you would like to help!
I created a Book Fair Slide that includes all the important links you may need for Book Fair: E-wallet, your child's Book Fair schedule, online version of the flier, volunteer sign up, the Scholastic Book Fair link, and an online copy of the letter that was sent home. Please use this slide as a resource to help you and your students feel ready for Book Fair!
I am looking forward to Book Fair week (December 4th-7th) with an afternoon time on December 5th 3-5pm and can't wait for the students to walk away with some new and exciting books!
