Student Council Officer Applications
Are you a student looking for a challenge? Do you see yourself as a student leader in high school? Would your friends say that you are FWAFA PROUD? Apply for an office in the FWAFA Chapter of Student Council for 2023-2024! Be a member of our leadership team!
Students currently in grades 8-11 may use the application below to apply for Student Committee Chair, Board/PTSO Rep, or Community Liaison. Sophomores or Juniors may also apply for Student Body Reporter, and Juniors only may apply for Secretary, Vice-President, or President. Information about the responsibilities of each office is in the application. To be considered as a candidate, you must also have two recommendations from teachers/sponsors. That form is also below so that you can forward the link to the teachers.
The deadline for applications and recommendations are this Friday, March 3rd at 4pm! The elections will take place March 29-30. Elections for class representatives and other class officers happen in April.
If you have any questions, please email Ms. Mueller at karen.mueller@fwafa.org or Mrs. Smith at lisa.smith@fwafa.org.

Texas Theatre Scholars Award from Texas Thespians Association
Fourteen students have earned the Texas Theatre Scholars Award. This program recognizes and honors high school theatre students who demonstrate achievement in theatrical performance, exhibit high academic success, and outstanding citizenship.
To qualify for the Texas Theatre Scholars Award, students provided information about academic performance, citizenship, and their involvement in their campus theatre department.
Research on theatre education continues to demonstrate numerous educational benefits across student populations, student age levels, and learning environments. Theatre education provides several social benefits including teamwork skills, how to give and receive constructive criticism, problem-solving, trust, cooperation, and collaboration. Additionally, theatre education helps students develop a strong sense of self, build empathy and understanding amongst peers, and helps broaden their knowledge of the world around them while preparing them for future careers.
Join me in congratulating the following Texas Theatre Scholars.

The Annual Campaign is 1 of just 2 fundraisers that TCA+A holds each year. Federal funding keeps the lights on at our charter schools, but it is TCA+A dollars that ensure a challenging and robust educational experience for all students. The Annual Campaign supports everything from classroom supplies, technology upgrades, costumes for our vast performances, transportation needs, and evidence-based curriculums so that we can provide one-of-a-kind instruction to all students. Visit our website for more information.
