Judy Center Happenings
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
February is here and there's a lot to LOVE about the Judy Center this month! In February, we will be celebrating Black History Month, Dental Health Month, Groundhog Day, Valentines Day and Presidents Day!
We will start the month with a field trip to the Sultana Educational Center on Tuesday, February 6th at 10:00am. The theme will be 'Beary Cute Bears"!🐻 We are 'beary' excited and we hope you are too!
Our playgroup theme this month will be 'Safe and Healthy Me'. February is Dental Health Month! Families will learn all about how to keep their teeth healthy with a visit from Choptank Health on February 7th.
On Tuesday, February 27th, we will welcome Tina Squib from SNAP ED, as she gives a lesson on healthy eating. Tina will be bringing some delicious snacks for the kids to try! 🍌🥑🍓🥦
We appreciate our Community Partners at Choptank Health and SNAP ED for taking the time to visit our Judy Center and supplying our families with lots of great information and materials!!
ATTENTION 10:45 PLAYGROUP FAMILIES: We will begin our lunch bunch group on Wednesday, February 7th! This is when we will be eating lunch in the cafeteria for the first time! We will be ALTERNATING between Tuesdays and Wednesday's each week. Our Tuesday group will have their first cafeteria lunch on Tuesday, February 13th! Families can order lunch from the cafeteria (IT'S FREE) or pack your own lunch! Reach out to us if you have any questions!
EVENING PLAYGROUP FAMILIES: This month, our evening playgroup will be held on Thursday, February 15th at 5:30pm. We will be serving a light dinner. Be on the look out for an email to RSVP! Hope to see you there!
INFANT PLAY GROUP! We have expanded our playgroups to include a special group just for parents and babies up to 18 months old!! The infant playgroups are held on Thursday mornings at 9:00am.
The Judy Center is an ideal setting for young children to develop emotional, social and cognitive skills to become life long learners. If you know anyone in the Church Hill School zone with children ages birth through 5 years old, please spread the word about us! We also serve children who reside anywhere in Queen Anne's county IF they have an IEP/IFSP. We would love to have them join our playgroups! It's FREE!
School Readiness In Action
Practice make perfect!
Learning to walk in a line, quietly, and independently, while navigating the hallways and cafeteria at CHES is just one of the many ways we practice school readiness!
Your turn!
Taking turns with a peer is a skill that requires patience, sharing and cooperation, which are also foundations for relationship building.
Pre-writing skills
Holding a writing tool and moving it fluently are the beginning skills needed for letter and number writing.
Queen Anne's County Mobile Library 📕📙📗📘
The Queen Anne's County Mobile Library will continue visiting our Judy Center every other Wednesday. We are extremely grateful for our partnership with the Queen Anne's County Mobile Library and look forward to their visits! For the month of February, they will be here on the 7th and 21st. Please bring back any past checked out books and have fun choosing a new one!

What is the Judy Center and Who Do We Serve?
The Judy Center Early Learning Hub provides resources to help parents and caregivers prepare their children for success in school and life. We serve children and their families living in the Church Hill Elementary School zone from birth through age five. We also serve children who reside anywhere in Queen Anne's County IF they have an IEP/IFSP.
We provide home learning kits, playgroups, home-visits, field trips, parent/caregiver support and food assistance. All of these services are FREE!
In addition, we can connect families to other services such as adult education classes, childcare support, healthcare services and much more.
