Dear Gayman Families,

Thank you! As this school year comes to an end and I reflect on the last six years leading Gayman Elementary School, I am reminded of what we have accomplished. Together, we faced many challenges and emerged triumphant. We maintained our high standard of academic excellence, and we grew in many ways. Our students are stronger than ever!

As I walk our hallways during these last few days, I am reminded of what makes Gayman Elementary School special. The people. As parents, your kindness and support has been the foundation of our success. Our staff's genuine commitment to put the needs of students first, is unparalleled. And finally, the students. This group of exceptional children begin and end every day with a smile, and eagerness to learn. It has been my honor being their principal.

It is my hope that our paths cross again someday. Until that time, may you and your children find joy in every moment, and success in the journey of learning.

Gayman will hold a Move Up Day on Wednesday, June 14th from 9:00-10:00AM.

Students will not be assigned a specific teacher by that date. Instead students will meet all grade level teachers and learn about the highlights of what the 2023-2024 school year will hold for them. Our goal in this activity is to build excitement about the coming year and reduce anxiety for the next school year, as we head into the summer.

The 3rd Trimester ends on Thursday, June 15th.

Report cards will be posted in the Parent Portal on Monday, June 19th at 1:00PM. Final report cards can be accessed electronically using this LINK.

In the summer months, student placement is finalized. Considerable time and attention is given to create well-balanced class groupings that consider the social, academic, and emotional needs of all students.

As you know, all of our teachers are caring, capable, and highly qualified educators. Our job is to support our students by developing confident, resourceful individuals.

Just as in previous years, final class assignments are announced in early August. On Thursday, August 3rd at 4:00PM, the 2023-2024 class lists will be announced via the Parent Portal. We look forward to the excitement that a new school year brings!

Pennsylvania mandates the following health examinations:

• Physicals: School entry (Kindergarten), grades 6 and 11
• Dentals: School entry (Kindergarten), grades 3 and 7

Parents are urged to have physical and dental examinations completed by their family physician or dentist and submitted prior to October 15th of the year that they are due. Send health forms to Sara Hedges, our school nurse, at shedges@cbsd.org.

We have already started planning for the 2023-2024 school year. If you have any interest in being a Committee Chair for one of the committees please reach out to GHSAinquiries@gmail.com to let us know.

Throughout the summer HSA works on finding a Chair for each committee and then a SUG for committee volunteers will be available shortly after. All committee information can be found on our Webpage.
