Field Day is Here Again! Volunteers are Needed
We are thrilled to be able to hold our annual Field Day this year on Wednesday, June 7th!
In celebration of all of their hard work, our sixth and seventh grade students will spend the day building community, showcasing their athletic talents, and reaffirming what it means to be a Leonardtown Jaguar. Eighth grade students will be spending the day at a picnic at Point Lookout State Park. LMS Jaguars have proven themselves to be P.A.W.S.-itively phenomenal this year. They are Positive and Polite, Accept Responsibility, Work Hard, and put Safety First.
We are looking for volunteers for Field Day this year! Please note that to volunteer at one of the Field Day stations, you must be a registered volunteer through St. Mary’s County Public Schools. Please see this link if you are interested in becoming an SMCPS volunteer.

School Library Month
April is School Library Month. School Library Month is the American Association of School Librarians' celebration of school librarians and school libraries. Additionally, the week of April 24th is National School Library Week. Thank you to our own Mrs. Hanes and all of our SMCPS School Librarians for their hard work!
Laptops and Chargers:
As we approach the end of the school year, it is a good time to remind students and families about their accountability for laptops and chargers.
o This document and newsletter are being shared with the school community.
Student Fiscal Responsibility and Debt Collection
Parents and guardians should be mindful of all debt that their students accrue throughout the 2022-2023 School Year. Student debt could take any one of the following forms:
Lost/Damaged Computer Devices
Lost/Damaged Textbooks
Lunch Debt
Parents/Guardians play a key role in monitoring not only their student's actions but also their fiscal responsibilities regarding lost/damaged issued devices (such as computers and textbooks) and/or food purchases made by your child in our school cafeteria. Payment can be made in the form of cash or check and should include your child's five-digit Student ID# (e.g., #12345). For further convenience, families may also pay by credit card online at http://www.myschoolbucks.com/. All questions and concerns should be directed to the school bank or the principal's secretary.
