PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Hello Darby Families!
It was another wonderful week at Darby Middle School! This past week students in all grades participated in a lesson "Your Counselors: More Than Schedule Changers" with our two AMAZING school counselors. Ms. Byford and Ms. Hodge stay busy around here! School counselors help all students apply academic achievement strategies, manage emotions and apply social skills, and plan for careers. Our counselors have lunch bunches, SWAG time enrichment sessions, mentoring groups, and a breakfast club for students to get involved in at Darby. They are the presenters of our Mindful Monday announcements and creators of the Monday Morning Meetings that students participate in every Monday during 3rd period advisory. They have a beautiful and relaxing calm room for students to use when needed. Finally, they manage our Darby store that is busier than ever during lunch time with students spending their Darby Dollars!
I can't say enough great things about Ms. Byford and Ms. Hodge! They truly love kids and are here to help. If your student is struggling with anything at all have them make an appointment using the counseling virtual classroom. I encourage students to get involved in something our counselors offer at our school.
