The semester is almost over - what this means for FINAL grades:
Teachers will continue to evaluate the academic evidence provided to them by reviewing...
1. Academic performance toward meeting the grade level expectation for each standard or skill
2. The consistency of performance as skills/knowledge is applied in different ways
3. The quantity of evidence provided in each unit throughout the course
All of these elements will assist teachers in determining a student's FINAL grade.
If students provided quality evidence in the beginning of the semester, but have failed to produce evidence at the end of the semester, their final grade may be lower than previously posted due to this lack of evidence. Students are encouraged to finish strong, as the learning continues to the final day of class.

Joanna Fedor, Teacher at Northridge High School is Nutrition Services Health Nut of the Month!
Here is what her nominator had to say:
"Joanna is our Food Science, Catering, and ProStart teacher at Northridge. Not only does she impart knowledge on students in the classroom, but she provides guidance to our peers around healthy eating and meal ideas. We can count on Joanna to try a new food recipe or concept on the weekends and share her thoughts Monday at lunch. She is a great worksite wellness member and always encourages our school to get involved with the exciting events that Worksite Wellness puts on. Joanna recently competed in a half marathon, which is wildly inspiring. When I was looking for a way to workout during the winter months without a gym membership she shared a Peloton app free trial with me and pointed me in the right direction for a spin bike. Every PD day with an hour long lunch Joanna suggests a walk around the building to maximize our relaxing hour for lunch. Finally, Joanna's students love to hear her opinions on the recipes they try. She always has a student made meal/dessert being delivered to her by her students. They value her opinion and want to show off the skills they have learned or hope to learn more about in her classes."
Click here to see more about how Joanna lives a healthy lifestyle!
In recognition of her hard work, Joanna will be receiving a one-year subscription to the wellness-related magazine of her choice plus a gym bag. She will also be featured on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/d6worksitewellness AND Instagram page, follow us at we_are_d6_wellness
Thanks for being such a great role model, Joanna! You demonstrate our D6 Worksite Wellness Mission: D6 staff will motivate, cultivate and journey with one another in well-being and Vision: creating lifelong healthy, engaged and high performing role models for our students and community.
