Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families- It’s funny how these 4-day school weeks can feel like 8 days! We recognize and understand how the month of January, the final few weeks of the semester, can feel challenging. Our students and staff have been working very hard at maintaining our focus. It’s also evident that students and staff are tired. We continue to face disruptions in learning due to student and staff absences, this is one factor that adds extra stress to all people in our environment. We will work through this by keeping communication open and maintaining reasonable expectations.
You may hear from your own student tonight that we had a nearly 1 hour lockdown drill. This is NOT regular practice. The drill identified a glitch in our system. It would not allow us to shut it off locally, here on site. It was very disruptive, but again, the students and staff remained positive and we made it through. One of the side-effects of a new building….
Exciting events coming up: Parent information night for CURRENT 9-11 grade families, hosted by the Ridgeline Student Services Counselors. This event has switched to an ONLINE webinar. 6:30pm this Monday, Jan. 24. See the link and details in today’s newsletter, or on our webpage.
Next week, ASB elections are kicking off! Check out the information here and please share with your student who may be interested.

Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

The Falcon Robotics team
The Falcon Robotics team competed in their last regular season competition on Jan 15th in Snoqualmie Washington. At the end of regular contention they were 4th place and were chosen to compete in final alliance rounds. In the alliance round 1 they won their first bout with a 2-1 win over a tough alliance, and progressed into the finals. The alliance they faced in the finals had two teams that have won or placed in state many time in the last few years, one team is a national level team. During the finals round the other alliance broke the world record score and knocked the falcons out of contention. The Falcons finished 4th in the region. We did not come home empty handed though. We received awards for being a finalist, for winning the design award, and we took second place in the Think Award. What a good rookie season!
Ridgeline Deca
Last week, RHS students participated in their first regional DECA competition, which was held virtually this year. Stay tuned to find out which of the 29 students will qualify for the state competition to be held in Bellevue on March 3rd-5th!!!
ASB elections
Hello Falcon Families,
We are preparing for our first ASB elections here at Ridgeline. On January 10th students from the ASB Steering Committee presented the final draft of the Constitution of the Associated Student Body of Ridgeline High School. Thankfully, the Central Valley School Board approved the committee's work, and we now have an official ASB.
Our first ASB elections will happen mid to late February. Applications will be available to Sophomores and Juniors on Monday, Jan. 24th. There will be a QR code in the commons that will link students to the application. Applications will be due Friday, Jan. 28th by 3:00pm. The officers will serve the remainder of this year and the 2022-2023 school year. Please see this document - ASB and Class Officer Information and Requirements. There are some non-negotiable commitments that candidates must agree to in order to run. Class Officer elections will happen at the end of March. I will send out more information when we get closer.
Please see Mr. Conrad in room G101 or email at bconrad@cvsd.org if you have any questions.
