A Note from Mrs. Williams
Hello Schluter Families!
What a great week it was! The grand finale this week was our annual Turkey Trot, and I am so proud of each of our students for finishing strong. It was a great time!
I want to give a special shout-out to our amazing PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) and all of our families who donated to make sure our teachers and staff enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday! This is one of our favorite days of the year, and we appreciate you for making it special by showing our staff love!
I am beyond thankful for each and every one of our students, families, and staff members. Schluter is the best school because we have the best students, best staff, and best families, and I am grateful that I get to be a part of it every day!
As a reminder, NISD is closed for school all of next week to celebrate Thanksgiving. I hope you and your families get to enjoy time together with laughter, food, relaxation, and fun!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Williams
Thanksgiving break lasts November 21-25

Cyber security a priority in Northwest ISD
Cyber security remains a priority in Northwest ISD, and our district spent Cyber Security Month in October providing helpful tips to stay safe electronically. Read about some of those initiatives here.
Facebook Live on December 14 addresses potential attendance boundary changes
Northwest ISD will host a Facebook Live video chat at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, to show families potential attendance boundary changes for the 2023-2024 school year.
In addition to likely changes for the 2023-2024 school year, district leaders will also provide a preview of long-term forecasting for future secondary school openings. Northwest ISD’s Facebook Live video chats typically last about 30 minutes. For questions that are not answered during the video chat, the district provides written responses within the week.
To participate in the video chat, visit the Northwest ISD Facebook page on the social network’s website or mobile app.
Alphabest Afterschool Care
Reminder: Use MyShoolBucks for school meal accounts
Free or reduced-priced meals now require 2022-2023 application
For students who meet federal requirements, school meals may be provided free or at a reduced cost. To receive this benefit, a student's parent or guardian must fill out the free or reduced-cost meal application and be granted admission into the program. While students in the program receive the same benefits briefly at the start of the following school year, the application must be completed annually to continue receiving the program's benefits. For any student who received benefits from the free or reduced-priced meal program in 2021-2022 but has not yet applied and been granted its benefits for the current school year, regular costs are now in effect.
In order for benefits to continue, an application must be completed and returned and free or reduced-price meals will continue to be provided, if the student qualifies. The application can be completed at this link. Paper applications are also available at all Northwest ISD campuses. Please direct any questions to Yen Brown, free and reduced specialist, at 817-698-1091.
