Springmill STEM Family Update
April 23, 2023
What a weather roller coaster! It wouldn't be Ohio without it. Reminder - no school for students tomorrow, April 24th. We will see them Tuesday!
Students are doing a good job of following the dress code. Please make sure they are wearing shirts that cover the shoulder (no spaghetti straps or tank tops). It look like many of our students have grown out of their summer clothes from last fall. One other thing to check is to make sure their outfits aren't too small/tight.
We are so proud of how hard our testers worked this week! Our 3rd-6th grade took parts 1 and 2 of their ELA tests. This week our 5th graders will be taking their science tests on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Please make sure students are here on time on their test days, because they can't start their tests if the rest of their class has already started.
If you did not already sign up through the online link, an intent form for next year came home with your son/daughter. Please return that as soon as possible to hold a spot for your student as we are planning class sizes. If you have any questions, please call the office.
Over the next 5 weeks, students tend to get a little antsy and struggle to follow the school expectations. Please make sure you are reinforcing appropriate school behaviors at home. We teach and re-teach the expectations daily - be respectful, be responsible and be safe.
You may have heard your students talking about a trip to Altitude Trampoline Park. The entire school will spend a couple hours bouncing around on May 19th. You will be receiving some paperwork for release of liability from the trampoline park as well as the school. If we do not receive this paperwork by May 12, students will still attend the trip, but will not be allowed to participate in the jumping.
We are also looking forward to seeing students and families on May 4 at 5:30 for our Star Wars STEM Family night. There will be games, food, and projects for all participants. The plan is to have this outside, but we do have a back-up plan if it is bad weather.
Let's have another great week!
Thank you,
Cara Will
