The ScoopSpecial Services Update - October 24, 2022

Communication, The Scoop & You!

#TISDGameChangers are heading into week 11!

Make sure you are checking for any fatal PEIMS errors and things are up to date for Snapshot coming up the last Friday of October (evaluations/ARDs). We are also checking campus numbers and need to make sure the campuses and next year campus is kept up to date as well.

There may be a lot of information in the SCOOP that you are responsible for knowing. We want to limit all the separate group emails, so we condense most of our communication into this newletter for you and for easy reference to go back and find. Please be sure and read each edition of the Scoop carefully and let us know if you have any questions.

Have a great week!

~Keri

Recap of Last Issue:

Be sure and look back if needed for any information on:

  • PEIMS staff data is due! The Sped staff Schedule log is linked HERE. Please make a copy for yourself and save it to send to Sharon Meanor. This log is to report your duty schedule, student minutes served, the campus served, and student count for this school year. HERE is an example to help with how to fill it out.

Who will need to complete this? Sped staff/teacher, Diagnostician, LSSP, SLP, OT, APE, VI, and OT

**Remember this is only instructional minutes: we do not record testing time or evaluation times. Sharon Meanor is needing this by Wednesday, October 26 2022**

  • PEIMS Snapshot is Friday, October 28. Please ensure that any initial ARDs due near this date as well as annual ARDs due by this date are completed. Please correct any PEIMS errors to ensure PEIMS data is being reported to eschool correctly.

Dyslexia Supplement in the ARD Screens

Please ensure we complete the Dyslexia Supplement as we complete the Annual and Initial ARD meetings. If the student meets eligibility for SLD with a condition of dyslexia, then the entire supplement should be completed.

Dyslexia screening on the supplement should be left blank for all students until further directions.

October is Physical Therapy Month Thank you Whitnee Drake & Cindy Gunn #Wonderful Support #TISDCelebratesPTMonth - #TISDGameChangers

In celebration of Physical Therapy Month, let’s catch our campus teams in the act of “Safe Handling” - . Many paraprofessional staff and special education teachers participated in “Safe Handling” training during the August District Collaborative Day.

Safe Handling is so very important for our campus teams to keep in the forefront of their minds as it is the little things that we do in a day that prevent the “oh my aching back” or the incidences of work related injuries.

Let’s catch Safe Handling in ACTION!

Use Five Key Actions of Safe Handling for additional information on each safe handling action. To provide evidence of “Catching” an action, tweet a picture or a story of what you observed.

Weeks of October 17-28
