Meet our new Assistant Principal!
Ms. Lori Anne Tunstall Hagood is very excited to be joining the Mitchell Road family! She has thirty years of experience in education as a teacher and administrator. Ms. Hagood has bachelor's degrees in business administration, elementary education and her master’s in elementary education from Lander University. She also has an Ed. Specialist degree in administration from Clemson University.
Ms. Hagood is from Greenwood and has one son. Her son, Spence, recently graduated from high school and is attending Presbyterian College this fall where he is playing on the golf team.
Ms. Hagood looks forward to meeting all of the Mitchell Road family soon!

Run Hard Club
Attention MRES 3rd, 4th and 5th graders!!!
The Run Hard program is starting soon! This is an afterschool program for boys and girls that, according to their website, helps kids build the foundation for success in life by teaching them life values through the sport of running. We teach teamwork, wise choices, how to show positive peer pressure, honesty, respect, leadership and perseverance while training everyone to finish a 5k on November 18th!

In light of recent events at athletic venues across the country, Greenville County Schools has updated its safety requirements for athletic events, effective immediately (see graphic below). As a reminder, there is a clear bag policy for GCS events. Thank you for your cooperation and help to ensure the safety of all attendees.
Greenville County Schools Job Fair
HR Operations will host a job fair on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Wade Hampton High School. This hiring event will focus on hiring bus drivers, bus aides, custodians and food service operators.
NEW PAY Rates……….. EFFECTIVE July 1, 2023:
Bus drivers: $21.28 - $23.54
Bus Aides: $15.59 - $17.14
Custodians: $15.06 - $17.06
Food Service Operators: $15.06 - $17.06
Greenville Middle Academy Event
Mark your calendars! On Thursday, September 7, Greenville Middle Academy is hosting "RAMs Around the World: Cultural Connections," an evening where we'll hear from Julio Hernandez, the assistant to the president for community outreach and engagement at Clemson University. He will be sharing his story as a first-generation high school and college graduate with us. During this evening, you'll receive a passport to get stamped as you "travel" and gather information from our many community partners, including the Hispanic Alliance, GCSD Bilingual Resources, Greenville County Library System, Public Education Partners, Carolina Literacy Project, and more! Reminders for this Week
- The weekly newsletter can be translated to a variety of languages. Please click the "Translate" button on the top right side and select your language.

- Students may enter the school building starting at 7:00am. The school day begins promptly at 7:45am. Be sure your child is in the building before then. If your child needs breakfast, it is best to have him/her at school by 7:30am.
- Car riders should NOT enter at the front office door. That entrance is only for walkers and parents who need to do business in the front office.
- Please be sure any transportation changes are sent to the teacher, in writing the day of the change. We cannot accept these over the phone.
- Breakfast and lunch are free for all students this year. If you would like to put money on your child’s lunch account, you may do so through My School Bucks, cash, or check. If you would like to limit your child’s spending on snacks, you may do so by contacting our cafeteria manager, Julie Hardwick, at 355-6708.
- Parents are welcome to join students for breakfast. Please be sure to sign-in at the front office with your license first.
- Dismissal begins at 2:15pm. If you are not here by 2:30pm, you will need to go to the office with your driver's license to sign your student out.
