A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Luther Burbank Families,
I hope that everyone was able to enjoy the weekend and the extra day that the holiday provided. We had a tremendous return to school last week at Luther Burbank. It is SO great to see and hear our teachers and students together as one school community - finally! The hallways have been filled with chatter and laughter. It doesn't get much better than that. Please make sure to take a look at the photos, below, which capture our first week back together.
Our students and staff have done an excellent job, overall, with the transition to the school year. This transition has also included adjusting to our updated COVID-19 Guidelines and Protocols. These protocols reflect an overlay of mitigation strategies that will help support our community's health and safety as we enter the fall months. If you have yet to review these updated protocols, you may find them here.
A special thank you to the Lancaster PTO for helping welcome our staff back to school with treats and snacks and for extending this welcome to our front walkways with the incredible positive chalk messages that filled our sidewalks. We received so many compliments on these messages, and we were incredibly happy to respond in thanks with "that's our Lancaster PTO... the best PTO ever!"
As we step fully into September, we look forward to the start of Cross Country and to welcoming our parents and guardians to our Open House next week on Tuesday, September 14th. Extracurricular activities and intramurals will begin soon as well. Please be on the lookout for more information soon to follow.
In partnership,
Laura
