School Motto
Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School is committed to the pursuit of Christian Truth & Excellence.
All members of the school community are encouraged to develop their potential and special qualities in an environment centred on Christ.
The Search Continues....
God seeks us, God waits for us, God finds us...before we seek him, before we wait for him, before we find him.
Pope Francis.
Core Values
As a community centred on the example of Christ, the following core values (CARE) underpin our approach.
Community
We value every member of our school community and we are committed to working together to reach our shared goals through mutual support, encouragement, and celebration of our Catholic faith.
Achievement
We are committed to learning at every level to achieve our personal best.
Respect
We have personal and collective responsibility to each other and to the school’s success.
Excellence
We promote excellence in all that we do.
From Mr Will
Welcome to the Week 4 instalment of Spirit News. I feel like I say this every edition, but it feels like this term is flying along at such a rapid rate! We are now almost halfway through the term and the year feels as though it is coming to a close rather quickly. I can’t believe that I have been connected to this wonderful community for almost a year now. I feel very blessed to be leading our staff, students and the wider community and would like to thank you for your ongoing support of our school moving forward.
Staffing 2024
A large part of my role is to ensure we maintain and build expertise in our staff group. Staffing allocations each year take into account a number of variables. Due to the large change the school went through last year with multiple staff moving on or coming to the school, our plan broadly for 2024 is to maintain consistency. We do have a few staff who are moving on at the end of the year, please see the details below:
Helen Chatzimichail: Helen was employed this time last year and has been such a great addition to the staff. She was employed to offer support in multiple classrooms across the school, however due to some staffing changes, she worked in our front office for almost a term and a half. Helen was such a great support in the office, helping and assisting with enrolments and general inquires. Helen will leave Holy Spirit at the end of this year for family reasons. We wish her all the best and hope we can see her again in the school, even in a relief capacity.
Eleanor Milne: Eleanor has been a music specialist at Holy Spirit for 6 years and in this time has continued the great tradition of The Arts in our school. In addition to teaching music at the school, Eleanor also led the school choir, led hymn singing during liturgical celebrations and taught vocal instructions to many students. Eleanor kept our students at the centre of every decision she made, and no issue was every too great to overcome. I have said this to Eleanor many times this year; I am so impressed by the effort, talent and achievement of our music program and Eleanor should be so proud of her efforts during her time at the school. We wish her well in her new role, which encompasses more days, is closer to home and allows for pick-up and drop-off for her children.
Please see below for Draft Staffing allocations for 2024, please be aware that this is subject to change without warning and based on many variables. The timetable for support staff is still being created therefore not all information is currently available.
Please follow the link below for the 2024 staffing allocation:
URSTRONG
You may have heard in previous editions or in conversations that we are starting to implement a new friendship program at the school called URSTRONG. The premise behind URSTRONG is creating shared language and understanding across our community in the way we view and resolve conflict. Conflict is a part of life, and this training will equip our community with a language to resolve conflict appropriately. We hope this will in turn strengthen relationships across the school. This term all staff have completed the URSTRONG training and all students from Kindy through to Year 6 are working through the first set of activities. Next year, the students will complete the URSTRONG curriculum in Term 1 and will keep working through the content over the year.
Our URSTRONG package includes parent workshops with dates to be confirmed early in 2024. If you have any further questions, please follow the link below or contact the school.
Staff Gifts
I would like to bring a new CEWA Executive Directive to your attention. At the end of each year, some families choose to purchase their class teacher a gift. This is not compulsory and is not expected by any staff member. Please be aware that all CEWA schools must comply with a gift registry, which states that any gift at or higher in value than $100 must be declared and permission given for this gift to be accepted by the teacher. If you choose to purchase a gift for your child’s teacher/s, please keep the value under $100.
Busy, busy, busy
The calendar is jam packed with events, if you can’t keep up with it all (you’re not alone) our front office is just a call, pop in or email away. Please reach out if you need any further information.

Ben
