From Sr. Kucinski
Welcome to December! Where did the month of November go? We had another very successful week of learning here at La ola del lago. I would highly encourage everyone to check out the numerous events our PTC has planned over the next several weeks! Before we know it we will be the new school calendar year, and we will begin the planning for Kindergarten registration and transitioning our 5th grade students to middle school.
Today our grade 1 students had the opportunity to visit the Bell Museum. The students were very excited. I always love to connect with the parent chaperones after a field trip! ;-). And for only the second time in LODL's existence, our grade 5 students have the opportunity to visit Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center next week (we have not been able to go the past two school years due to COVID). This experience is always the highlight of the year! We are very excited for them!
Often times parents ask me what the school needs help with. I would continue to say that we need anyone interested in being a substitute teacher to please consider it. Each day we have several unfilled teacher positions. When this happens we always find creative ways to fill.....but it's always at the expense of something else (combining classes, using specialists to fill, etc.). This past Tuesday alone we had four unfilled classroom teacher positions! For more information, please check our website here: https://www.plsas.org/employment
I hope everyone is staying healthy and happy! It is an honor to serve your children and families!
Have a great weekend.
