Happy April!

I hope everyone enjoyed the time off over spring break.

Below are a few updates for the month of April.

WY-TOPP

We are gearing up for our end-of-the year assessments. The testing window for WY-TOPP is April 11th through May 5th. Grades 3 through 5 will be taking these assessments in the areas of reading, writing, and math. This is a celebration for our students to show how much they’ve learned! Tune in for info from your child’s classroom teacher on specific testing days and times.

Temporary Virtual Education

The school district has a plan for Temporary Virtual Education (TVE). TVE would be implemented in the event that we have a snow day or for other reasons when we might need to temporarily close the school building. The purpose of TVE is to keep students learning while also avoiding the necessity to make up a school day due to inclement weather.

Students brought home a workbook along with specifics for how TVE will work at the elementary level. Hang on to this book, even when the school year ends. This workbook will also serve as their summer practice book that students can work on over the summer. We host a celebration in the fall for all students who complete the workbook. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Principal Parent Focus Group

This is a time set aside for parents to meet with our principal. The purpose of this meeting is for parents to ask questions and share feedback. Mr. Gallagher will also share some of the work that teams are doing at Eastside. This is an opportunity to gain some insight to the operations of Eastside, how decisions are made, as well as provide feedback on decisions. We will meet from 8:00 to 8:45 AM on Friday, May 12th in the Eastside library.

PTK
Our PTK meets the first Thursday of each month. April's meeting is Thursday, April 6th at 3:30. Childcare is provided. We encourage all parents to attend!

We appreciate the support from our families in ensuring that all Eastside students learn at high levels.

(PCSD 6 KinderBoost students will be active participants during this program.)

Apr. 20- Math-tastic Thursday at Eastside from 9:00-9:45 and 10:00-10:4

Apr. 25- Preschool Tuesday at Sunset from 2:00-3:00

Apr. 26- Book Club Wednesday at Livingston from 9:00-9:45 and 10:00-10:45
