Spring Term - 4th May 2023
Message from the Executive Head Teacher
Dear Parents/Carers
I hope you are looking forward to yet another holiday weekend and the celebrations for the Coronation of King Charles III. Thanks to the FOHJS we are marking the occasion here at HJS with every child being offered a sweet treat from the ice cream van who will be visiting the school. The children can also come to school wearing red, white and blue but please remember no football shirts or sprayed hair.
Next week is a busy week for our Y6 pupils as they will be sitting their SATs every morning which will assess reading, mathematics, grammar, punctuation and spelling. Please make sure the children have had a good breakfast and get to school ready for those revision sessions and a calm start to the day. I know the children will do their best and I would like to thank the year 6 staff team for the preparation and support of the children.
Following our recent Ofsted inspection, we are still awaiting the final report. This process can take some time but I am very much looking forward to sharing this report with you as soon as I am able.
Ms Helen Lockey

After School Clubs
Please can you ensure that if you need to collect your child early from an after school club that you have contacted the club in advance to inform them and if necessary obtained a number to call the provider on arrival at the school.
Unfortunately the office are unable to collect children from their clubs so alternative arrangements will need to be made with them direct to bring your child to you.
Next Week - Swimming & Music Lessons (CANCELLED)
As our Year 6 will be doing their SATS next week as a reminder all swimming lessons and music lessons are cancelled. This is because we need all available staff to help facilitate this and we will be using all available rooms in the school. Thank you
HJS Music Achievers
Big congratulations to Edward in Year 6 for gaining a distinction in his Grade 8 Piano Examination. Well done Edward
Year 3 News
Year 3 had a wonderful time visiting Richmond Synagogue. We learnt about special festivals and Shabbat - the day of rest. We had to take public transport and we demonstrated the Bee Rules throughout the day. In fact, members of the public commented on the exceptional behaviour! Well done Year 3.
